YES!!!!!!! At long last, the perfect iMac! lol

Give them one more chance! I picked up my baby today and I dissected it, well, with my eyes and ears, as well as trying out all the components and ports, and everything seems to be working just fine. This one's a keeper! <knock on wood>

The screen was my biggest concern, but as I said, I would have kept returning it if it hadn't passed my rigorous and admittedly at times paranoic tests. Thankfully, there is nothing wrong with it. No yellow "tint", no dead pixels, and no other imperfections as far as I am able to tell.

I also finally lucked out and got a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black drive (WD1001FALS) which is quiet as a mouse, especially compared to the Seagate ST31000528AS from my previous iMac(s). This WD drive also has a reputation for being an immaculate drive from what I've read in reviews so far, whereas people writing about the aforementioned Seagate drive seemed less enthused. The Seagate's noise didn't really bother me, although I do prefer a quiet drive over a loud one, and I also feel better about having a WD drive!

So I'm back on Cloud Nine after a few disappointing bumps in the road and Apple came through on making this a sweet deal and a half. :D This new Lynnfield i7-870 has more firepower than one of the Extreme Edition i7's, and I'm looking forward to working with my first ever Quad-core CPU with both Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading. Yikes! I'll be sure to run some benchies and post results.
