Congrats on making this far! This post has the 8 kexts/plugins needed for Sleep to be installed to System/Library/Extensions to do this use "Hackintool" to unlock the system partition (Catalina only) then drag all 8 kexts (leave out whatever green/lilu since you're booting with OpenCore) on top of the Kext utility icon and let it install/Timeout with an error. Open Terminal and enter 'Sudo reboot'.
So just to recap here are the 6 kexts being installed, hope this helps.
  • AppleIntelHD3000Graphics.kext
  • AppleIntelHD3000GraphicsGA.plugin
  • AppleIntelHD3000GraphicsGLDriver.bundle
  • AppleIntelHD3000GraphicsVADriver.bundle
  • AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext
  • AppleIntelSNBVA.bundle
  • AppleMCCSControl.kext
  • IOSurface
#3,271

You can also replace AppleGVA in System/Library/PrivateFrameworks with the one attached and re-bless it for Airplay functionality and IGPU H.264 encoding.
Sorry. I missed this.
That's the post:

When you go to the registry, you will see the entries are missing so it is a must to add them manually since they are not there.

Yes all work for now

Good afternoon everyone. I finally modified the vBios of my new GPU (770m) Thanks to everyone for the tips and support !!!

I have a problem running games on macOS and Windows10, In all games I tested, the card offered great performance except for a sudden drop in FPS, it happens all the time, from 100fps drops to 30/40 for about 4 to 5 seconds and it returns to normal. Windows is completely updated, the GPU driver is updated. Can someone tell me if this is normal or if there is a problem and if there is a solution?

My settings are: iMac 21.5 mid 2011, i5 2400s 2.5, 16gb ram, SSD Samsung EVO 500GB and the new GPU 770m.

Operating systems: updated macOS High Sierra.
Windows 10 updated.

Thanks!!

Today I installed a Quadro K1100M in a 21.5 2011 iMac. When I turn it on it's just a black screen and the fans are super loud. What should I do?

On mac os Catalina or ? For fan install app fan controler and that will be ok but if you using catalina must press options and boot from catalina ssd or hdd than must reinstall kxt for catalina

I am wondering if I did something wrong. I followed all of the instructions I could find for my set up.
21.5 mid 2011 iMac with the K2100M.
Everything seems to be working except...
The card was supposed to be 2gb but when I go to About This Mac it lists the GPU as having only 1gb. Is that the way it is supposed to be?
Lol how ? I have same

2010-2011 iMac 21.5" iMac MXM card upgrade Q/A
Q: What MXM card(s) are known working?
A: Currently, the NVIDIA Quadro K1000M, K1100M, K2000M, and K2100M are the preferred MXM card's to swap due to space issues and low power draw of these cards. While the GTX series cards recommended above will function in a 21.5" model, they are unstable due to their high power draw. @highvoltage12v tested a 770M here and had frequent Kernel Panics in macOS and BSoD's in Windows.

Don’t have diagnostic leds
You have LED on your iMac - search them. Fans running on high rpm when thermo sensors have not been reconnected. Black screen may be bad inverter board, badly seated display cable or just High Sierra latest upgrade does the same as Catalina latest when hitting an (with an Nvidia graphics card) upgraded iMac. Do you have an external display?

Hi Guys, I just registered. I was following you about the WX7100 and I just want to give you my insights.

I tried the WX7100 00C version on my iMac 27 2011 without success. I have the same result showed by some of you (1 led on, short spin of fan once turned on and nothing else). I tried several things for the power theory suggested (unplug everything and just turn on the iMac with only the graphics card in; but unfortunately same result. I also modified the vbios and the bootrom on the iMac, but still same result.

In the meanwhile I tested it in a 27 iMac 2009 and 2010 and it works perfectly with windows (recognized but poorly performing in catalina, recognized by high sierra while booting but after black screen; everything using Nick's Opencore IMG on pendrive as first boot) , (tested GTA5 with high/very high settings 1080p, decent results with limitation of the CPU). So I would exclude the faulty theory.

Similarly I will exclude the power theory also because I swapped the power supply between 2009 and 2011, keeping everything unplugged, hoping to have a good result but didn't change the outcome.

I hope that this will help more experts in the group to exclude something. I'm not a bios coder, but my idea is that some cards have incompatibility and maybe a bios editing on the GPU and the bootrom could fix the problem. It's just my theory and probably I'm wrong, but I hope that someone smarter than me can figure it out.

For now thanks everyone for your help and effort. Hope that we can make it happen ;-)

Thank you for your insight - this is very valuable. To put it in Nick's words: "the 2011's are a PITA." We are seeing similar results with our tests on other Polaris based GPUs like the WX4130/WX4150. Unfortunately, this means we are still unclear as to why some WX7100s work in the 2011s and some do not... A strange and unfortunately expensive problem to solve.

Thanks Sharpino89, that is great insight and yet another confirmation of the previous findings from the last several months. @NOTlNICE I think there are only 5 or 6 successful installs: Nick, Pascal, wlagarde, ooze, LegoNickD. One thing I believe is common about previous implementations is that most of them if not all made the backlight mod during the first implementation and did it last autumn (so perhaps some patch made it more difficult now?!? although it does not sound too logical when I put it like that)..

Thank you for your answer, I just wanted to confirm that I didn't do a backlight mode. So that can be a possibility but still doesn't explain why it works perfectly on older models. Hope this helps.
