i7 with Radeon 4760 Graphics and 8GB RAM - SSD 256GB - Base for me...
You shouldn't be expecting specs like this from an entry level computer. Just a heads up.

I certainly hope so! I've been waiting since February!Cult of mac is now reporting that Lion will be released next Wednesday (7/6) at 9:00 AM PST
Anybody else starting to suspect we may see refreshed Macbook Airs, Minis, Mac Pros, and possibly macbooks all at the same time?
Each separated by a week, at least, for marketing purposes. Although I think Apple once updated Mac minis and white MacBooks at the same time a couple of years ago.Cult of mac is now reporting that Lion will be released next Wednesday (7/6) at 9:00 AM PST

The way Apple updated the Macbook and iMac, it seems to be a given that the base Mac Mini will be i5-2410M, 4GB RAM, Superdrive, Thunderbolt, no discrete graphics, with otherwise the same design for $699. Only question in my mind is whether the hard drive will stay at 320GB or be bumped up to 500GB.

The "cheapest P.O.S. PC" doesn't use mobile parts.I agree. One would hope they'd bump up to 500GB. The cheapest P.O.S. PC has a terabyte.

One thing that is apparent reading all of these threads and that is Apple are masters at creating speculation and anticipation for a product. It's an ad-man's dream and something money just can't buy.
Who else but Apple could create such an atmosphere for what is after all a bog standard mediocre spec'd headless computer?![]()
We had a few "2012 iMac" threads before the 2011 model was released..can't be good for their sales though when the speculation starts earlier and earlier? At this rate you'll get 3 months sales of a new mac before the next 'waiting for refresh' thread..

i just need something for downloading music and working on photoshop plus using j downloader, burning videos and stuff, will a mini be right for me?

Even a 2099 used mini will be plenty. Current mini is probably faster than my original unibody MacBook pro which I use daily. We're mostly just moaning that it doesn't have the latest and greatest tech in it.
Definitely, a "2099" used mini (from the future) will be sufficient! LOL!
3200-kiloqubit quantum processor, an integrated four-terapixel free space holographic projector, internal cold fusion fuel cell rated for five decades of continuous operation, and all this in a package 2mm x 10cm x 10cm. What's there not to like?
Then the ever present question: Should I wait until 2099?![]()
