Doh! You may have been the "who" that I was referring to earlier. ;)

LOL. Its like this. This mac mini will most likely be the very last up-gradable mac mini ever from apple. On top of that they run Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite and the next OS. They will be worth a ton in a short while and will be coveted collectors items in years to come. If I was to sell one now it would be for too much. I plan on keeping these forever and never selling them. I collect macs and to have this level of mini unopened is like going back in time and grabbing an unopened original macintosh. Apple has pretty much killed off all of its up-gradable systems. I don't even know if I would call the new mac pro upgrade-able since there is not hard drive space to speak of and the graphics cards are proprietary. That leaves only the 27" mac mini with accessible ram slots and that is frankly pretty freaking sad.

$839 from B&H free shipping, no tax and came with parallels 10!
Ouch. $250 more than the $589 2.3 GHz Quad from Apple refurbished? It's only a 13% difference in clock speed. You'll never notice it. The 2.6 Quads are $679 from Apple refurbished when available.

Refurb sucks. Like NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Just went to a best buy that had it in stock but would not sell it to me for $399 :(

Hang in there. Best Buy will probably have it on sale again soon. Keep checking their online store.

Also go to slickdeals.com, and sign up for any Mac Mini deals to be sent to you by email as soon as they become available. That's how most knew about the Best Buy deal right away.

Also check the Apple Store for refurbs at $419. They're almost certainly new as simply unsold units from retail stores. But then $449 from Best Buy now isn't much different.

So this might soon mean the 2.3 i7 will be $599 and open box would be $579? If so, I might have to cancel my $589 refurb deal from Apple!

Yeah, I think if I was looking for a 2.3 I7, I'd hold out for Best Buy putting it on sale. Might be a significant reduction as they did with the I5.

Ya but you have decent social services and guaranteed health care.

You really do not want to know how much taxes we have to pay for those...
Btw for that i7 2.3 you would pay 1000 dollars over here...

True. But you really do not want to know the medical bills here often pushing to bankruptcy.

That is true. Lol but as a single you can not save a dime over here, that is close to bankrupt :D:

This is funny I was at microcenter and they have like 10 in stocks of the base model and about 8 for the quad core. $399 and $499

damned 499 dollars, that is a no brainer...

Just checked my local microcenter. Base is $449 and quad core not in stock. You have a good deal going at your local store.

Mine that I ordered open box for $360 after tax just showed up today. Installing yosemite on it now.

Does it come with pages, numbers etc software? Curious...

Yes, you do have to download them so I hope you have access to a non metered connection. The slow arse HDD is a killer on this machine though. I'm going to pop of the lid and throw in a SDD the first chance I get.

If you can get the 10% movers coupon, you'll be pretty close to the sale price.

Picked up the 10% off BB coupon. $405 total. Not a bad deal for a 2012 mini. This now takes care of upgrading my son's 2007 mac mini. Now I need to get my hands on a 2012 quad, to replace my aging 2007 24" iMac.

All new Macs sold on or after 10/1/2013 come with Pages, Numbers and Keynote included. They'll be tied to the Apple ID that you setup the new machine with, so you can also download & install them on any other Macs that you own as well.
