I went to the AS yesterday and they still sell Air 2.
So I can order the new iPad but can't have a look at it on the AS, nor read a review.
If I order now it will ship on April 11th and I need it before the 15th so I guess I have a couple of days to make my decision. I think I'm going for the refurbished Air 2 to have the anti reflective coating, but I'd like to see the new iPad to find out whether the display is so bad in comparison. I'm not sure is the same display as the original iPad Air, which is worst than Air 2

Of course it is, it has an A7!

(Whoops, I may have misunderstood nutriousmitten's post about it being a half step down as everyone playing the opposite game!)

the new ipad 2017 have the new A9 not A7

Not sure why some are anxiously awaiting reviews on the new ipad. It offers nothing new. They often can't tell the difference between screens anyways. It'll be the best cheap tablet you can buy that reviewers don't really use.

I'm anxious because I can get a 299 iPad Air 2 at best buy or I might shell out an additional 30 bucks for a device that might precisely offer nothing new. Thats why I need to be well informed in my buying decision.

If benchmarks are about the same, then i'll get the Air 2.

Newer iPad will be ~30% faster, based on benchmarks.

Sure is may be faster but screen is a step down, no other upgrades such as faster Touch ID. Also, accessories such as cases from the Air 2 don't fit. Jury is out if the Air 1 accessories from back when will work with this.

Point was is that few will consider this iPad an upgrade tech wise, as there are more ticks that are a downgrade from an Air 2 than the single one that is an upgrade, as well as price. The IPhone 5c is the last product Apple released that's biggest thing going for it, is the price. So tech writers are going to have to change the usual narrative when writing the review.

I guess it depends on where one's current tech is. I have an iPad Original (32GB) and my daughter an iPad Mini 2. The iPad (2017) would be a significant upgrade in performance. However, like many, I'm waiting to see one in person; trying to decide whether to wait for a new -Pro.

Look like Apple didn't even try to send the new ipad to youtube reviewers.
