Thanks dof250 ! Can You tell how good, or bad, is battery life with TB version (usage, luminosity...) ?
Well the TB is a bit disappointing in battery life I cann get around 6-7 hours out of it with normal internet/mail/iMessage on 75% . When you turn down the brightness and are “idle” reading you can get the 10hours easily, but when it has to work it drains fast.

The fans on mine kick in only if it's doing resource-intensive stuff, like running a VM. If it's just normal usage -- web browsing w/ loads of Safari tabs open, a YT video playing in a PiP window, playing music with Spotify, just to name a few -- it gets a bit warm, but stays pretty quiet, otherwise. And while I know the high-pitched key thing is something others have dealt with, I myself have not had the issue. I haven't pushed the machine hard enough, and/or for long enough, to know.

Regardless, yours definitely sounds like it's a lemon. Good thing you opted for a replacement -- I know something like that would drive me crazy.

Do keep us posted! :)

Just got my replacement, and works flawlessly. I put on the same workload and the fan hasn't throttled as much. The keys are perfect too! Other than the fact that the right side of the bottom panel pops up a wee bit (like a quarter of an mm), but its not noticeable until I push down on it, making this soft creaking sound. But it doesn't really give me any problems, just irks the OCD side of me. Don't think I will pursue that flaw cause I've had enough of shuttling MacBooks back and forth with Apple. Plus, it's just a superficial flaw. Just hope that no clicks keys suddenly appear down the road!

Thanks again. As I need more battery life, I will wait for the next rev.

Playing the exchange game definitely sucks, for sure. Very glad to know you got a satisfactory unit!

Funnily enough: I had a VM running the other day and while I was typing, I heard the U key make the high-pitched popping sound you were talking about. For whatever reason, though, I haven't been able to reproduce the issue -- which is fine by me, honestly. I'm not about to play the exchange game over one key. :p

I almost took this thing in after also seeing a scratch I'm sure was not my doing. As in your case, though, I didn't feel it was worth playing the lottery, especially since the machine was perfect, otherwise. Figured I'd buy a skin and call it a day.

Hope you enjoy your MBP! :)
