Would that have been the Pixel with stock Android?
I'm really jealous that Pixel owners have a powerful voice assistant & navigation. Both these make for a very productive phone, especially whilst behind the wheel. They're so far ahead of Siri/Apple Maps, that it hurts, every day...luckily, I'm a hybrid iPhone user, who makes good use of Google Maps voice search & the voice assistant within Chrome's 3D Touch menu.

The irony.
OP even thought not. Respect their thread.
My perfect phone will be that SE, 4.7" bezeless and SE design but slimer. To dream is free....I expect 2018 to be the real megacycle for Apple and iPhone.
iPhone X was diluted by iPhone 8 and many people are still wary of first generation hardware.
With the 6.1" iPhone, Apple is clearly targeting the mainstream customers who want the thin-bezel form factor without the price. The entire lineup is expected to be refreshed.
4.7" - SE 2 (maybe)
5.8" - iPhone 11
6.1" - iPhone 11+
6.5" - iPhone 11XL
The X form factor and fingerprint reader in the back.
Hope they bring back Touch ID. I’ll sell my current x and get a new one if they do...
Keep Touch ID, get rid of that horrible top notch and lower the price a bit.
2018 iPhones will be amazing, but they won’t offer anything that I consider must have. My 8 plus is surprising me every day. I keep waiting for the battery life to tank, or some other bug or issue that ruins the phone for me. None to be found.
The new phones will have much nicer screens, but the day to day use will remain nearly identical. How much faster can the a12 be? How much better will the camera be in only a year? Everything will be better for sure, but it’s not going to be night and day. No phone can be night and day in this age. The reasons to get a 2018 iPhone are slim to me if you have a 2017 iPhone. Going from a 6 plus or a 6s to a 2018 iPhone would be huge. I see people talking about selling their x for the x plus. That was my original plan, but the #1 perk of that phone is the 6.5” slim bezel screen. It’ll feel close to the same in hand as my 8 plus, but have a much better oled screen and be a bit faster. Not worth the money to me when the basic usage experience will be nearly identical, it’ll just look sharper and there won’t be big archaic looking bezels.
I really think 2019 or 2020 will be the year to really take it to the next level. Band 71 and 5G should be the norm. Who knows if we will have new battery tech at that point.
At the end of the day, the 6.5” x is ideal for people who watch a lot of video on their phone, but you can get the same feel in hand for half the price (or less) with an 8 plus or even a 7 plus. Oled is cool, but it’s not a must have for me at the moment. I paid $999 for a 70” LG tv in January that blows away any cell phone screen, regardless of price or resolution. Instagram looks the same on my phone as it does my wife’s X or my buddies Note 8. I just don’t need more than 5.5” from a phone, since what is most important to me is the form factor and a wide keyboard like the 8 plus is legendary for.
I could be wrong but I don’t expect band 71 in September.
I almost got the v30 for band 71, as well as the audio. I could swear I read something recently saying it still will not have band 71 this year, but I could be wrong.I think Band 71 was possible last year, but they didn't put it in. Intel's modems better be able to hit that for T-Mobile because we don't need to hear Android users brag about how Apple is a generation or two behind in terms of bands and what not.

If Apple released a bigger version I would buy it on launch.
And that pretty much encapsulates why I keep going back to Android. The lack of CHOICE. Its Apple's way or the highway. The fingerprint reader on the back of an iPhone is not going to happen. Apple considered that as an option and experimented with it, but ultimately decided that was not an appropriate placement for touch ID on the back of the iPhone prior to the iPhone X.
