How do you know this for sure?

I‘ve been 3 times to the Apple store with different iPads and recorded unresponsive screen on video. They connected their tool to these iPads and it never showed any failures (while store workers clearly seen them).

happens on any charger or charging location

Bad electrical installation can affect a whole city. It depends on the quality of energy that the electrical company is sending to you. Unresponsive touchscreen while charging is the most common symptom of electricity flowing through the neutral wire of the socket.

Why not now? Why would it take "a couple of days" to simply just share a few videos? I'm beginning to get suspicious. With all due respect, are you lying or trolling?

Haha, please be patient. First of all I have to find that video and second I have work to do and family to care for besides posting here.

In all honesty, I can't see a video being that hard to find.

Taking care of your family is better than arguing, but I still can't imagine that it would take a while to find a video and share it.

Could you share the videos?

Well here you go. You know, I'm really mad at Apple and their ignorant employees because instead of spending quality time with my family and doing work on my iPad I spend it on recoding and publishing videos on the Internet. And fighting with the iPad.

Here's a crop of how my iPad Pro 12.9" works nowadays:
You see I scroll the Home screen and then it stops scrolling all of a sudden.

It's very hard to reproduce on video but the problem becomes extremely annoying because you don't know when it stops working. Sometimes I spend 10 minutes putting together simple sentence on the iPad Keyboard, sometimes it's Safari where I can't click a darn button to enter my bank account, sometimes it's a drawing application that stops drawing.

And that's happening after warranty replacement.

Wow... that's really bad.

I've had bad outlets result in touch being barely detected a few times or it acting like I was clicking randomly on the screen.... but that's really bad.

I'm late to the thread but ... have you tried when plugged into a surge protector or other outlets?

My work has REALLY bad outlets - they eventually replaced them all and the issue went away.

But this is insane.

Ironically screen protectors make the screen much less responsive https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250226155

So the "built-in" hardware problem with unresponsive touch screen becomes even worse. iPad is becoming a true disaster product for Apple.

I used an iCarez matte screen protector on my Air 3 and 10.5 pro for some time. It would result in a stroke from my Apple Pencil being "missed" once every 15 mins or so. It was annoying but nothing that prevented me from using the device. Regular touch responsiveness from my fingers was not affected.

I've noticed, now having removed the screen protector, that I can write for long times with the Apple Pencil and not have any pen strokes missed. But yeah, because of that I don't use screen protectors anymore on my iPad.

--------------------------

I've had quite a few iPads (Only 10.5 Pro, Air 2, Air 3, and Mini 5) over the last handful of years and never had this problem reported in the thread. Sorry to see. :(

For those who keep track I'm on a replacement unit for my Gen 2 12.9 iPP. A couple of days ago I was trying to highlight utilities in a set of as-built PDFs I was reviewing when a break in a line I was drawing appeared. I grabbed my phone to video it as I knew at that point the screen was not responding to the pencil.

I just got this replacement unit back in October/November timeframe. My AppleCare+ expires in February and I'm going to try to renew on the monthly plan when it does.

Yeah I have exactly the same problem, but I decided to stop giving my hard-earned money to Apple until I'm sure they fixed the problem they created by themselves. Not gonna pay for any faulty products anymore and not gonna sponsor rich people.

Thanks! Do you plan on getting an Android tablet?

I'm slowly switching to Microsoft Surface Book 2. Which is surprisingly also a tablet. The switch is not flawless, I need to find the corresponding software. But looking at what Apple continues doing to the iPad makes my choice easier and easier.

Whatever works for you. Meanwhile my whole family uses iPads without problems. I know dozens of iPad users in person and none have this problem. Then again I don’t know anyone with the largest iPad Pro.

Hope the Microsoft Surface Book works out. I love OneNote and OneDrive. Microsoft is great. I use brave browser on my work machine and XPS desktop at home. Eset for antivirus. Microsoft ToDo for reminders replacemeant. Definitely OneNote. Imazing for iTunes and coconutbattery.

I called apple, they said if I have a non-factory power supply, this will become a problem. but after I replaced with the factory original power supply, the same issue happens...
