Almost sounds like a hardware issue to me. I also have a W5700X and also use Adobe Software (albeit probably not as frequently as you do) and experienced none of those issues. Have this machine since about a month.

BUT: what I had were one or two total screen freezes right at the beginning, i.e. screen was totally locked down for a few seconds (even mouse pointer unresponsive), followed by an immediate restart (but no visible KP). Logs pointed to the window server, and I guess it really was a graphics related issue. Since it did not happen since a few weeks now, I guess (actually I hope ...) it was just a setup glitch or something like that.

PS: what I also would try is to start in safe mode and see if you can see the screen. Save mode should start without any graphics drivers, so it could help to assess if it is a driver related problem.

PPS: also be aware that Adobe CC is a biiiig POS coding wise (and money wise ...) and this software also cannot take advantage of the power of this machine. I was totally shocked to see AE results between my old hackintosh and the new 16core MP7,1. I.e. it was only about 40% faster, I guess mainly due to the NVME drive on the 7,1. Apps that really use all cores (Adobe does not!) should be way faster.

Perhaps now after these crashes you have some issue with the SMC? Try resetting that - whatever the procedure may be on this MP.

Tried starting in Safe Mode last night - same result - Apple logo and progress bar on one monitor then "No Signal" message on two monitors, then going to standby and white indicator light staying on solid on MacPro.

Hmm - Boy that's strange. Sounds like the GPU may have failed 1387914497.gif And, maybe on the verge of failing since new - An infant failure.

Been on the phone with Apple Tech Support all morning (seems like a week with no sleep - went through 3 Tech Support levels... all that was left was Tim Cook and I doubt he uses a Mac!)

Back up and running!

The Senior Tech that I finally spoke with was convinced it was a software issue. Normal Recovery-Mode would do nothing. He finally had me do an Internet Recovery-Mode (Command+Option+R). It took about 45 minutes, but everything came back up at 100% (keeping fingers crossed).

What he thinks is that the computer was in the middle of installing yesterday's software update when I tried to wake the machine from sleep at midnight (interrupting the update). Then when I saw nothing but black screens and did a forced shutdown, that is what trashed the system.

I also asked him about the W5700X issues being reported and he said he thought that everything had been resolved with recent software updates (we will see)!

I would start from scratch and based on my earlier advise to restore it completely by resetting the T2 chip. You'll need another Mac to perform it. If that doesn't boot up your Mac back to life, it will have to be replaced.

EDIT: Oops, there were a couple of updates since I typed this response. Nevermind.

Didn't know that piece of the puzzle. You did a forced shutdown? I don't remember the last time I did a forced shutdown. And, I will never do automatic updates or update from the web. It's really dangerous IMHO. This morning I downloaded the Combo Updater from here:

And, at night, I turn my Mac off.

And, as usual, the update went fine. This update did its thing was much faster than the one to 10.15.5.

Yes, in my post #24 I did a forced shutdown when the monitors did not appear to wake up. "Apparently" there "may" have been a software update in progress and I was unaware. I never had an update auto-initiate on my old 2012 MacPro? It always asked me first - never started without me launching manually. I don't see any setting that says to auto-install updates?

To OP, one more thing to consider is storage. I had problems similar to what you’ve experienced when I had some funky external storage. Removing it fixed the issue. In the future, if you have a problem, try dropping back to a base config to see if that helps.
