i had no clue the box weighed this much or was so large.. i’m worried i won’t be able to get it into the back seat of my car.. will it fit or would i need a truck?

It will probably fit , but you'll run the risk of getting a hernia ! It nearly took out my UPS man .

Where all this packaging weight comes from is a mystery .

Maybe lead infused corrugated paperboard ?

Hidden steel rebar ?

Transparant aluminum ?

I don’t know, but I think I might be able to use the box as a piece of furniture! It’s super heavy duty!

Fits fine in the back seat of my Prius V. Also fits fine in my wife's Subaru Crosstrek XV.

For anyone that's interested, here are the specs for the packaging on the Pro Stand:

24 x 12 x 9.5 inches (61 x 30.5 x 24 cm)
9.15 lbs (4.16 kg)

If anyone is curious, I just weighed the outer box that was used to ship the Mac Pro, and it came in at 6.55 lbs. It's got some reinforced cardboard and 3 large foam inserts.

So total packaging weight is 25.55 + 6.55 = 32.1 lbs.

They are charging $6279 for the base model. The more you configure, the bigger the price's difference

Lucky you, here in Brazil they are charging US$ 13.429 dollars for the base model. I kid you not.

I have already used the box several times to transport my Mac Pro. It’s fantastic if you ever need to move the computer around.

Yeah, it is a must if you are transporting it thru air. I believe it is robust enough to withstand the beat up from the cargo handling

I weighed the box with all of the inner boxes and plastic wrap (but without the Mac Pro or accessories), and it came in at 25.55 lbs.

This doesn't include the shipping box with it's big foam inserts which I'm guessing adds a couple extra pounds. I'll grab the scale to weigh that one later.

That is a heavy box though and I believe the the box must be really thick.

Agreed! I typically save all of my boxes, but this one is super nice and definitely worth saving. Unfortunately it’s so big, so those with less storage space might not love it. :p

Same to me, and now I'm thinking where to store the box if I get the Mac Pro.

Thanks for providing the dimension of the Pro Stand

I think I will put the weight and dimension of the packaging at my first post.

Yeah, the tax is sick.

One for the price of two! Such a great deal! 🤣

I miss United States though, and everything I pay in Malaysia right now is double the price in the states

By the way, anyone gets a special discount for their Mac Pro or the XDR display?

If you set it on the side of the road, college students will pick it up as a
coffee table for sure~

By the way, does anyone use a special discount (employee discount) for their Mac Pro or the XDR display? I'm getting a Mac Pro and a XDR display, and I wonder if anyone is willing to use the employee discount and help me to buy the Mac and display.

I wouldn’t move that heavy of a package with out a hand truck and I certainly wouldn’t lift it.

Does anyone have the size of the retail box?

We're ordering a bunch of them but won't be able to deploy them immediately and will need to store them until April. I figure we can remove them from the shipping box and store them in the internal retail box to save a bit of space.
