You’re missing my point

I didn’t miss anything. I simply commented off your battery remark on your previous post, supplemented on my logic that the A-series processors have contributed to the battery life, regardless of the ‘size’. Hopefully that clears any confusion you might have.

  • 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2: LCD display, single-lens rear camera, no 5G support
  • 5.4-inch iPhone 12: OLED display, dual-lens rear camera, 5G support
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12: OLED display, dual-lens rear camera, 5G support
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro: OLED display, triple-lens rear camera, 5G support
  • 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max: OLED display, triple-lens rear camera, 5G support
Looks like a pretty reasonable recipe for a complete lineup refresh (sans perhaps the 11 sticking around to fill the gap between the new 4.7 inch and the 5.4 inch until the 'SE2 plus' launches next year?)
  • 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2: $399 (64 GB)
  • 5.4-inch iPhone 12: $699 (64GB)
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12: $749 (64GB)
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro: $999 (128GB)
  • 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max: $1099 (128GB)
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 11: $549 (64GB) (?)
Of course they could also go off the deep end on pricing and make the 12 $749 (5.4) and $849 (6.1) with the Pro models being $1099+ and $1199+ respectively...

I can deal with moving from 5.8 X to a 12 Pro that’s 6.1 but I really don’t want a 5.4 Pro and I’ve never been a huge fan of the plus size or Max so this lineup would satisfy me

No, because the 6.1" form factor is the de facto standard in China for budget phones. It came about in 2017 and quickly became the base size display in that region. Apple didn't pick 6.1" out of thin air, they adopted the form factor to better compete.

5.4" will be a low volume seller, so there's no way it will be an entry level device. That's not how Apple under Cook operates.
Jesus Christ...Apple did NOT get the 6.1 inch screen size based on the Chinese market. Why do some Chinese people choose to believe world events are based around them its so deluded and pretentious just boggles my mind. I'll leave a comment I wrote on Reddit here for you since its kind of fitting for your comment. Please wake up from your Chinese propagated mind.

TLDR: Cheaper phones sell most in china. Apple is catering to them with pricing. NOT screen size.

Apple pricing the phones lower was a huge positive strategy. About 99.75% of people in China live below poverty line and in horrific living conditions. The salary and wages are extremely low and the standard of living is way below adequate and very poor. Most people in China don’t have the disposable resources like other Asian countries do like Japan or Korea to be spending a thousand dollars on a phone.

This is why Huawei and Xiaomi and other Chinese tech companies have been incredibly successful within China. They MUST price their phones really low in order to compete with Apple and Samsung. Because people with money don’t buy a huawei, they either go for an Apple or a Samsung product. These Chinese tech companies have no reason for existing unless they are priced cheap because literally no one will buy them. This is how they survived; by selling cheap phone to people with no access to luxury which most of China is like.

There is a reason why iPhone 11 blew up in China and Apple revenue and profit jumped this quarter. It’s because they priced it low for the Chinese people so they can finally afford an Apple iPhone just like the rest of the word. I applaud Apple for understanding this and going through with low iPhones in China for the Chinese people.

I am not talking about the 0.25% population of Chinese people who actually have money and live in North America or other western countries. They have the money and do wear luxury clothes and drive luxury cars just like the rest of us but that’s not even a percentage of whole china. I’m not talking about those people. I’m talking about most Chinese people in China which are a very poor group of people who live well below poverty line

Now that Kuo has revised his initial guidance (6.1” 12, 5.4”/6.7” 12 Pro) to this, and it’s being corroborated by other analysts, I’d say it’s highly likely now.

I must admit that I’m feeling quite smug that I called this in my original post three months before Kuo 😂.

I don't care about anything larger than a ~5 inch display, where's the SE 2 in that line up ?

So the NOTCH is here to stay even in 2020 ?
