Have magic keyboard ?
No I decided against it, although it is beautiful. I didn’t like how much weight it added. I have the overpriced Apple Smart Folio. If I ever need to use a keyboard with it, I will just use another Bluetooth keyboard. I also have several sturdy stands around the house that are adjustable and make the experience great.

Agree it’s too heavy. Like it by itself

OP here's a mega thread about this topic to add to your confusion. :)

I have the first iPad Pro, touched and 9.7” screen that I use for bed also, this 12.9 was going to be used for everything outside of that, including gaming now that there is more support for controllers, Xbox game pass, etc. but this is my first 12.9, let’s see if I can live and adjust to the size.

I upgraded from a 9.7" Pro to a 12.9" pro. I ended up exchanging it for an 11" pro.

Curious if those with an 11" pro are still enjoying them and thinking it was the right choice?

I have not regretted getting one (2018) for one second. Still use it for hours each day.

M1 12.9 Pro here - It's awesome. The screen is stunning - shame they couldn't get it on the 11 too.

I bought the last Gen Magic keyboard and it fits perfectly - for I think half the price of the latest version - officially I think the new one is 0.5mm(!) thicker

use the Magic Keybard?

If only the 11“ had the XDR screen. It’s bright and viewing from it is beautiful just like the Pro XDR I edit from.

I really wanted an 11” but after a few weeks owning the 12.9” I sometimes question if what I have is the 11” because it sometimes feels small at times. :)

I do. It’s attached to each other 24/7. I have no issues with the weight or thickness. Coming from using both a desktop and a MBP 16” on a daily basis, this iPad 12.9+MK doesn’t bother me at all.

I just can’t get used to the iPad file structure oy!!!!! So prefer MAc
I agree. But you get used to, I moved most work files to the cloud thou. And Im happy with the photos app and finder is ok.
I bought space gray first then changed to silver… I prefer space gray but if I decide to buy the MK(which I’m kind of skeptical since I like the way the iPad is by itself) it will match! Lol

You got the 12.9?

I replaced my 2018 12.9" with the M1 11" iPad. Turns out, I really prefer the smaller size. Also doesn't feel like I'm carrying a brick with the Magic Keyboard attached. I actually find myself using my iPad a lot more now. Even in the bed.

I like the 11 inch. The 12.9 is too big and cumbersome. It’s not lapable, too heavy to carry and I would not use it sat down at a desk or on a table. I don’t carry the 11 inch and it doesn’t leave the house. My iPad mini is the iPad I take out and about. However it passes the lap test when attached to the magic keyboard so I use it at home on the couch.

Yes it is a little weighty, and a little cumbersome, but you get used to it and adapt.

This was the very same issue when I first jumped to the Max iPhones, I was sure I would never get used to it, but I did, and absolutely love my iPhone 12 Pro max.

The main thing is do not buy both! Because this will really annoy you, because one minute your loving the 12.9, then you pick up the 11" and then you start to love the 11". Just buy what you want and enjoy it, give it a year and if you still aren't happy, upgrade and keep that form factor because that's the one you'll enjoy most.

I'm actually thinking of jumping back on the 12.9 M1 bandwagon, I just loved the screen estate for editing Lumafusion videos and watching films, YouTube etc

This is something that can cost well over $1000. I exchanged my 12.9 to an 11 after a week of using it and I have never regretted that decision for one second.
