Will trade-in my M3 iMac for a M4 iMac when they are available. Got to have that better 'intelligence' ... especially, as I age.

I just brought an Base M1 (2 ports on back) iMac Open Box from Best Buy for $450. I didn't think I could passed up on a deal like that considering the screen alone lol. I got the better MK with Touch ID included and Ethernet Port on the power cable. I'll give my base M2 Mini to my Mom and sell her 2018 maxed out mini to recoup the funds.

Any good accessories I should buy?

I bought if for $1299 in 2021! Great deal for you! The base model was and remains a great machine since I just use Apple's built in software applications. Mail, Messages, Photos, News, Notes, Safari, Pages, Numbers ... maybe other apps, occasionally. But I could have remained with the M1 base model (maybe should have) ... but I am sort of a 'need the latest base model type' so I traded it in for the M3 iMac base model last year! I only purchased a new 4 TB back-up drive as an accessory. I only plug it in every once in a while since most of what I do is synced through the iCloud and it feels like a back-up even though I guess that is really not a back-up in a fully archival sense.

@WC7 did same in 2021 on launch day w/ a blue base model but zero issues thus a + experience. Usage is very sim. to yours but no upgrade yet but may when the M4 or 5 drops as I resemble that age thing etc.

I barely use my M2 mini tbh, but figured for the excellent screen alone it was worth that much! I haven't gotten the chance to play with it, but I may buy AC+ for it. Which maybe pointless, but who knows considering the age and the usage it had tbh.

If you need to raise the screen height a bit, this works nice. It's the Rain Design mBase 24-Inch for iMac. I bought one and I like it. It raised my Mac by 2 inches, takes up no extra space on my desk, and the little drawer is perfect for holding the charging cable plus some post-its and a thumb drive or two.

I have purchased AC+ for some Apple products ... really just for the iPhone. I figure most of what could go on a machine these days is the power supply ... not sure what to say. I am far more worried about house fires in general.
