Other 2025 iPhone 17 lineup

Rumours so far suggest:

• 6.7" Plus shrinks to 6.55-6.6" to become iPhone "Slim":
  • Slim doesn't sound very Apple, but Air has been a staple of the MacBook/iPad for years.
  • 16 Plus battery is rumoured to be 9% smaller than 15 Plus, whereas other 16 models are 3-6% larger. Possibly nerfing it so its smaller and thinner successor compares more favourably?
  • Sales of the 14 Plus and 15 Plus haven’t been great (although better than the mini). This would differentiate it more. Like how the 15” MacBook Air is to the 16” Pro, a big screen experience but much smaller overall.
• 6.3" Pro gets an aluminum design and existing Dynamic Island, only the 6.9" model retains titanium and gets a new smaller Dynamic Island:
  • Holding back these mostly cosmetic features could help keep the 6.3" Pro under the $1000 psychological price barrier, while the 6.9" model is free to go higher end
• 8GB RAM for regular/12GB RAM for Pro

Assumptions for now:

• A19 and A19 Pro chips to mirror the rumoured A18 and A18 Pro lineup this year
• 256GB base storage trickles down
