Own iPad Pro 12.9 256GB first generation and dying to get 512GB , i really don't know what to do, 256 is too low for me and keep killing me everyday for removing my purchased medias from iTunes.

512 GB is a huge win but gonna wait for a 1TB instead next round. I keep removing videos from my 12.9" 256GB everyday and I wish it (512 GB) was released sooner anyway i decide not to upgrade my first generation of iPad Pro and keep dreaming of 1 TB one.
moreover it really is a good feeling Apple accepts iPad Pros as a portable device for watching movies/TV Shows. They even support it in the ads and newsletters:

For the first time ever, the price of extra storage space seems almost reasonable.
+256GB for $200 is a steal compared to the extra 32GB/64GB/96GB you´ve been getting on iOS-devices up until now. Especially considering that those old upgrades still gave you too little storage to be "care free" anyway..

Go 512!! :)

I think either way you're onto a winner. I can't see 256GB being too little, but 512GB might just be too much.

Depending on your work load - which you know more than anyone - you either need it or you don't.

I think a LOT of apps will still fit within 50GB of the 256GB, leaving 200GB for your content needs and large files

Actually, $200 for 256gb ($.78/GB) is a far worse deal than going from 64gb to 256gb ($100 for 192gb, or $.52/GB). That's why I ordered the 256gb.

When they announced 512 GB of memory, I was shocked. I never expected Apple to jump that high in storage capacity. 256 GB is already more than enough Than I would need, but increase the storage by more than twice the amount, I think Surprised many.

This is true, I think many were surprised that they increased storage, it was a nice surprise tho. I think they did it because of the new Files app and the workload that people may want to do.

I ordered a new 12.9" IPP with 256gb even tho my storage/usage on my current 9.7" IPP shows 10gb :) But I am thinking future proof, I dont know what I might want in Apps even as soon as IOS11. For example yesterday, I bought Affinity Photo for iPad and that download was 2gb, I have no other App even coming close to that sizecso who knows what looms in the future. Still, 256gb is most likely overkill since I dont play games and I want to watch tv/ movies on my 65" tv. But I will for sure have peace of mind with the 256gb.

Keep mentioning of using iPad Pro as app runner only is making me mad. IT IS NOT AN APP RUNNER ONLY!!!!! OMG! WHERE is Surface Pro 512 GB?

It is called iPad NOT iAPP?!!!!

Even 512 GB is too low for me , i need/want a 1 TB at least.

With the upcoming features in iOS11, better Pencil recognition and Affinity Photo, I'm circling one of these, but I'd probably go with 256gb for a couple of reasons. I constantly remove movies and photos from my iDevices, and more importantly, am saving for a new iMac. I can pull the trigger on both right now I want to wait a little longer to replace my current Mac and see if I can find a sweet spot with an iPad Pro in my usage. I want to attempt to use an iPP as more than a consumption device though; that has been my great stumbling block with the device. The Monday announcements are the first time in awhile I feel like I'm getting some bang for my Apple buck.

Of course, I understand the desire for 512gb especially with students, folks who travel etc. I will wait until Apple has them in store before I jump.

Looking forward to hearing how people enjoy theirs.

i ordered the 512. better to have it and not need it....

That's what the owners of 256GB ones will say about their cash ;-).

But yes, 512GB to me, shows Apples confidence that app developers will about to get very desktop like and full fat.. thankfully

I chose the 256gb. I never came close to using the 128gb I have on my 9.7 pro so 256gb is plenty futureproofed for my needs. $200 is a lot and I would rather spend that on something else.

Traditionally, the middle tier was generally the best value. Looks like it still is.
64GB = $800
256GB = $900
512GB = $1100

To go from 64 to 256 = 4x the storage for $100 more
To go from 256 to 512 = 2x the storage for $200 more (yes, an extra $100 over the 256 model is getting you an extra 256 on top of that)

So unless you absolutely know you'll need the 512, the 256 is a better deal.
For the casual user, 64GB is fine. But if in doubt about 64, go 256... it's a "good" deal.

The "buy the most that you can afford" is a simple rule but causes the person to end up spending more money than they need to.

That's on the frontend. On the backend resale values are worst for the highest capacity models.

I'm deciding between 128GB 2017 iPad and 64GB iPad Pro now ..

The Pro is a bit of a budget stretch in itself so 256GB - despite the best value - is out of the question.

As someone who'll never buy the pencil or Smart Keyboard I don't know if I'm deluded to actually prefer the cheaper option.

I'm coming from Air 2 as this tablet now has a duty to go and be my mums 'computer' (no previous experience with any technology to be honest).

So I have to decide and quick!

The display never bothered me.. I fail to notice it really in stores. As for the reflectiveness im sure screen protectors by 3M can solve that.

So do I go Pro? Or accept I'm fine with the base model. Arghhh why Apple!

Yeah I want a 1 TB + iPad as well. Can't be that far off! Maybe about 2 years away!
