Don't worry about charge cycle. Instead, focus on battery stress, where the stress is high when charge level is > 75% or < 45%. When the battery is stress, it very prone to heat (impacting to battery health). So, plugging all the time is not recommended. Also, use the battery up to close to 0-10% every time is not recommended. The battery should be operated in non-stress condition: maintain operating between 45%-75% and keep in room temperature.
Excellent points. From a practicality standpoint, that guideline is probably not feasible for most people, unless there is some kind of app that alerts them to plug and unplug, provided they are in front fo the Mac.

My 16" 2019 MacBook is certified refurbished from Apple Store that I purchased in October, so it already had 8 cycles on it. I use it on battery most of the time. I usually charge it about 80-85% then use it until it drops to about 50% to charge it back to 80-85%. Furthermore, I only discharged it once to 8% when it did not sleep which was fixed by turning off Bluetooth on wake. Likewise, I also only charged to from 50% to 100% twice.
I got my MacBook Pro 2017 a new battery in 2019 (around october or september) it’s at 577 cycles now and going great!

The 75-45 is based on this (taken from BatteryUniversity.com). We can adjust to less ideal obviously, balance with your needs.
