Get the imac. I have the exact same model and am still impressed at how well it holds up to the power macs at school. I was considering selling it recently in order to pay for my new ibook as a laptop is much more practical for me as a college student, but there's just no way I want to part with this thing. Even when it's outdated many years down the road, it can still serve as a damn fine-looking itunes server on the living room stereo. :D

macworld is like 3 weeks away.

you cant wait til then?

The point is, for what? The iMacs are most likely not going to have a revision in any way since Rev C came out, and since I'm planning on buying a refurbished one and not even a new one, I hardly see how a (highly unlikely) upgrade would have an affect on what I plan to purchase.

Waiting for MacWorld to finish would also increase the time it'd take for me to have a computer since school would have already resumed by then. If i was planning on buying a Mini or iBook then it'd make sense to wait but as far as I can see (and as far as I can see buy other user comments) there'd be no point.

Ok well I was just saying, there is no guarantee at what we will see at MW. Its only a week or two, and maybe you might see something that we might not even know about that you might want to buy instead of an iMac. I was only saying its soooo close that I thought might be a good idea to wait and see what we get on the 9th :)

Hehe, I feel ya. :D I know how Apple is prone to dropping a bomb unexpectedly. Unfortunately (and fortunately) for me, apple also happens to be having a deal on refurbs that gets me free next day shipping but only until the 31st. :p

This definitely is the season for temptation.

Congrats! You'll love it! I bought a new Rev B 20" for my son last summer to take to college, and he loves it. I just bought a refurb Rev B 17" for home and it is great too. I'm still using my mini with a 2005fpw and it is also great. Get what you need when you need it, and don't look back. There will always be newer machines coming, but if what is available at any one time does what you need, then there is no need to wait. And a Rev B or later is always better than a Rev A anything IMO.
