Haha Internet Explorer sucks. I don't understand why it's the most popular browser (actually I do, because of Windows). It's funny that Microsoft can't even make a decent browser. Even worse than completely failing the Acid3 test, it's slow, new tabs load slowly, and all the other browsers have more features. I don't see the advantage in using it. Microsoft should be embarassed that a mobile browser can score way higher. Even the very first version of mobile safari was probably higher than IE's current score. Anyway, back on topic. Mobile Safari is probably the first mobile browser to score 100/100. Opera mobile might score quite highly though, dunno. I wonder what IE mobile's score is. Doing the test would probably crash it.

Yep, but the Acid test isn't why. You can comply with all current standards and still fail it. And some browsers are no doubt tweaked to pass. Benchmarks are geared for programmers, not users.

I believe Torch Mobile's Iris browser was the first. It was available on WM, etc.

Not any more though. RIM just bought that company, to finally bring Blackberries a truly decent browser. (The Storm 2 with a Safari equivalent browser should be a nice device.)

Speaking of browsers, check out the Nokia N900 here, with WVGA screen, full Flash and even mouse hover simulation.
