So I don't think Sandforce recaptured much at all.

And, what have they done for us lately? Where is their next gen controller? They are way behind.

They were acquired by LSI nearly 2 years ago and have been focusing on enterprise controllers, PCI-E solutions, and the 12 Gb/s SAS stuff they put out awhile ago. Also are #1 SSD controller supplier on a revenue share basis.

Anyway, back on topic... these super fast drives sound awesome but will they actually run in any mac pro? I was never able to get my OCZ PCIe SSD revodrive to work under OSX. Best luck I had was the multiple partitions showing up as separate drives on the desktop!

Or has something changed with the controllers?

the revo2 I have has always worked under OS X . . . .you need to install the OS X driver for the silicon image raid controller, then OS X sees the raid volume correctly. still won't boot, but it does mount and allow you to access it normally.
I've used my revo2 as a windows boot drive in my 2008 mac pro for almost 4 years now, no issues at all.
