Well 'they' right royally messed up with the 6+. That thing could barely function correctly let alone multitask with the measly 1GB of RAM.A bump in memory is not decided just like that. They’ll run a lot of performance benchmarks and then only decide to upgrade if it’s required in day to day use. Chances of a memory increment is less this year imho.
4gb sounds good, but when you consider that people are still using phones with 1 or 2gb, it makes you realize 3gb should be good for a while. You can never have too much ram, but I don’t think 4gb will be mandatory for a few more years at least. I came from android and was shocked to hear my 8 plus only had 3gb. I’m so used to android phones having 4-6gb of ram, but it’s a totally different system.

It iPhone is going to have multitasking abilities with the ability to do split screens, side by side, I think the next iPhone will have 4GB and plus size 6 GB RAM! Many Andriod top of line smartphones have 8-12GB of RAm inside them now so that would a very conservative amount for Apple to release in September.

4GB is still sufficient on Android, the recently released Xperia XZ2 and Samsung S9 come with this amount. For heavy multitasking 6GB is better, which phones like the Note 8 and S9 Plus satisfy. Only companies like OnePlus put silly amounts of RAM in their phones. It iPhone is going to have multitasking abilities with the ability to do split screens, side by side, I think the next iPhone will have 4GB and plus size 6 GB RAM! When do you think will iPhone gets the next memory upgrade? Given the iPhone X Plus should have even more pixels to drive, it make sense to bump up to 4GB memory right?
It was the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus with 1gb ram that struggled out of the box.I actually never struggled much when I owned the iPhone 6 with one GB of RAM, but I also think it depends how you were using the iPhone for someone tonotice the instability at times. Apple likes to ration how they include additional ram with future iPhone models, compared with the iPhone 6 started with one GB of RAM, when it would have been more manageable with 2GB of RAM for some.
Apple put 1GB on the 6 Plus (to its detriment), and just 2GB for the 9.7” iPad Pro. So it seems like Apple is quite conservative on RAM size to the point where some devices suffer. When do you think will iPhone gets the next memory upgrade? It’s the 1080p display that choked on 1gb ram
Which phone comes with 12GB RAM?!![]()

And it didn't help. The company filed bankruptcyThanks. By the sound of it, that amount of RAM was put in that device as a marketing stunt really. If a mobile device genuinely requires that much RAM then I’d be sceptical about software performance on the device.
Actually, the 6+ wasn’t great from the beginning. Reviewers already pointed out its choppiness on launch since it has to do twice the work in displaying the GUI (rendering and downscaling) vs the regular 6. So when iOS put more gestures into its UI, the 6+ suffers the most. Of course it’s not helping that iOS 11 is quite buggy. The 6+ to me was the “iPad 3” of iPhones. Apple then bumped the GPU a lot on the A9, in addition to giving it 2GB RAM standard.Nope-
It was later versions of iOS that killed it. The ip6+ runs great on iOS 8 and plenty fine on iOS 9. iOS 10 slowed it down some. iOS 11 killed it.
