if you use the useful three finger tap for dictionary checks and find it doesn't work. check out the accessibility preference pain (spelling deliberate). they've added and defaulted a three finger zoom which doesn't work and counter acts the dictionary action on the mouse preferences pain... the zoom is apparently a double click, which leads to the question as to whether that works or not, as turning it off did re-enable my dictionary behaviour. select which one you want, zoom or dictionary. I wanted my dictionary, so I removed the zoom behaviour.
