I have an XP disc if necessary, and I don't need Vista, in the end I just need Windows.

So if I free up HD space I can partion the HD? And if there is not a defragmenter program built into OS X, should I download one, or is there simply no such thing as the OS is supposed to do it itself?

Help please? It doesn't even matter if i use Vista, I just would like to install Windows in some way or another... :/

were you trying to repair disk or repair disk permission? when i had the problem with partition, i just repaired permission (you do have to use the OS disk to start up tho), and then it worked fine...

and to just to reiterate, you dont need XP to install Vista, altho games dont run well in vista from my experience, you'd better stay with XP if game is what you want, perhaps you can look at vista from parallels?

you can try to free up some space, that certainly should help

how much free space do you have now?

22.35 GB of space left.

I've repaired disk permissions multiple times and repaired the disk once.

try to use bootcamp to partition 10GB, see if it works..

(i probably won't reply til about 2 hrs later..., going home :))

I downloaded Onyx, and I'm going to try to do some HD maitenece in hopes it will allow me to partion the HD. Do you think this will work at all?

did u have problem repair disk and disk permission, if so, whats the problem last time?

yeah, try onyx, and see what you get

No progress. Is the only thing to do reinstall the OS? That would be a pain in the ass to do, and I'm not sure if this whole thing is worth it for that.

I've had this computer for about 2 months and I'm not a super-power user or anything of the like.
