3 years standard warranty from Apple (only UK?)

OK - I have checked this out and the period is two years, not three (sorry, my bad). But the basic elements remain the same and can be checked out initally here.

I am a little confused... The 1 year warranty on my iMac G5 runs out in a few days, does this mean I still have another year on top of my warranty after that? So if my computer becomes faulty Apple will still have to fix it for free? (Even though I'm not a student).
