So which do you plan on getting?

Vote above and answer below ...

Include some sort of reasoning behind your decision:

I am on the fence and leaning towards WiFi as I envision lots of casual at home use and have my iPhone for sporadic 3G needs, but I don't want to miss out on future apps and functionality that relies on GPS...

So how about you??

Im goin wifi only because i will generally be around wifi, and if im not i will just tether off my droid. The gps isnt worth $130 to me, and if i really want it ill just buy the 3g model next year with the camera haha. Also, the 3g is from att, so i wont get something that has such a limited area of use.

I have a Itouch 32gig and I always see apps I want but they are only for the iphone so that is one reason to get the 3g. The other is that I visit my grandparents often and they have now wifi so it would be more useful to me. I also want the 64gig because I have a lot of videos and I have to keep a lot of them off my Itouch to keep space for music and apps. I just wish I did not have to wait an extra 30 days to get mine.

AT&T is a big turn-off

I think the iPad is not going to perform well with 3G. AT&T's 3G performance looks bad enough on my iPhone; I can only imagine how it will look on a bigger device like the iPad.

When they come out with 4G support in version 3 I might go for it. But for now I'll limit myself to WiFi hotspots.

I answered "the 3G version" - but that's *if* I get one. I've got an iPod Touch, and there have been times when I've been out and about and unable to find an available wireless network when I've really needed one.

WiFi. 3G too expensive. WIll only at home. If I travel most hotels, some restaurants etc have wifi. Save your money.

Besides you will be able to tether eventually.

Wifi only, will tether with my iPhone via JB option if needed. If I used 3g constantly on my laptop I would probably go 3G, but I rarely find myself having a tough time finding free wifi.

16GB Wifi for me. $499.99 sounds good to me plus the first iPad will be sort of a feeling out process. If I feel I desperately need more storage or the 3G I will take care of it with next years model but for now the wifi with 16GB will be fine.

iPhone 3GS works just fine when in need of an internet connection outside of a wi-fi hotspot. Of all of the places I can think of when I'll be using iPad, there is usually a wi-fi hotspot in the same location.

You don't know that. Steve says no, and I believe him. MyWi takes up too much battery for me.

I'm definitely getting the 3G version since I want to use it when traveling.

That's one of my reasons, even though I don't travel much. Here is to hoping Aruba has Microsims by the end of the year :).

I'd go with 3G rather than Wifi since my Mobile phone service provider is providing 3G for FREE :D

I'm just not outside of a wireless router long enough to need 3G, and can't really justify paying $15 for 250mb of data in a situation where I'd need it. I'd just pull my iPhone out and make do with it.

No Smartphone.

I'm one of those very few people who has never owned an iPhone or any smartphone. For some complicated reasons it doesn't fit my life as well as my iPod Touch, which I absolutely adore and never go anywhere without (It's also my watch, as I hate wearing watches). I've longed for 3G, but know that I would use it so very, very infrequently that the thought of paying $60 a month, every month would be an incredible waste. So, I will get the 3G iPad because I can get get one month of coverage a year for $30 when I really do need it, instead of paying $720 as a yearly cost.

It is the perfect entry into 3G land for seldom/rare 3G user who wants to have to always have it as a back-up option.

WiFi 16GB...

This will replace an iBook we just sold that was used solely for web browsing. We'll probably do more on the iPad!

Wifi will be enough for me, because really if i would give the use for iPad that i imagine, it will be nearly 100% of the time inside of any place with wifi (my home, office, friends houses,..) or where public wifi is available (cafe place) not street or similar.

Wifi - can tether with my Pre for mobile access (3+ hours of tethering on standard battery, probably pick up the super extended battery for ~7 hours of wifi, more if the iPad's BT PAN doesn't suck as bad as OSX's).

Unless they add a camera to the 3G version and not the wifi, then I might upgrade as the GPS+camera might be worth the extra cash.

50% going for wifi only and only just over a third opting for 3G!

For the 3G users ... where do you anticipate using the 3G connection?

Please stop opening useless threads that have already been opened and discussed here before. Wifi only :)

I see the iPhone being my mobile internet device, and my iPad being the "on the couch" internet device.

Decidedly undecided.

Most of the time the Wi-Fi model will be enough for my needs, but I do travel 4-5 times a year where the 3G would be handy. I've got an iPod Touch, but not an iPhone.

Officially, AT&T is not in our area, but there are others in town that have an iPhone and they get spotty reception. However, when I'm home I have Wi-Fi and wouldn't use the 3G at all.

I plan on getting the 3g because having access to the internet at all times has become a habit.

I will be using the 3g at work because my works WiFi will not let me access my personal email.

I can't stand this wait. April 3rd is sooo close. Who knows when we will get our 3G one? Will they have a separate launch? I need 3G! Damn it! Why can't they be released same day!
