3G vs WiFi

1 wifi, 1 3g.

I'm out of the house 5+ hours a week with no hot-spots nearby. I don't need a connection all that time - but i get enough emails i do need to see/answer, and some browsing would be nice. It's cheaper than any other online solution (I have a smartphone without Data currently).

I anticipate after reading about peoples usage that the $15/mo will be more than fine for my needs.

I thought about just getting the MiFi, but the monthly price is double. I still have time to decide though....

if you've watched the keynote and aren't convinced, I doubt anyone can convince you.

$15 a month for 3G access to the internet while on the go -- it's a no-brainer for me, I'm getting the 3G. I don't need the unlimited $30/month plan, since I'm not away from WiFi that long each day, but $15/month hits the sweet spot for having the peace of mind that I can have the internet with me 24/7.

Yeah, I completely agree. Waiting those extra days is gonna be killer for me though .

16GB Wifi for me. $499.99 sounds good to me plus the first iPad will be sort of a feeling out process. If I feel I desperately need more storage or the 3G I will take care of it with next years model but for now the wifi with 16GB will be fine.

+1 I wasn't sure i wanted to go first gen but I can't not go to the party.
I can upgrade to more memory on gen 2 if there is one.

Here 3G is soo incredibly slow it's just a waste of time and money. I would just like the 3G one because of the GPS
