Man, this couldn't have been any easier -- had my 3G jailbroken with MyWi, then I got my iphone 4 on launch and just never got around to doing anything with it.

Ran the GP program, had it loaded, Cydia up and going in less than 10 minutes. Another minute to coordinate my old Rock account with Cydia, had the upgrade licence (9.99) and MyWi working shortly after that.

Great job, I'm super happy.

One thing you must check is your HOSTS file. If you use Tiny Umbrella it may not leave your HOSTS file properly set for an itunes restore/upgrade.

Yes definitely check hosts. Every time I go to update my jailbreak I forget about the hosts file and freak out when iTunes wont restore!!

GreenPois0n RC6, safe?

Hey, I'd like to jailbreak my iPhone(FW4.2.1) using the GreenPois0n RC6(Windows version) that was recently released.

I was wondering though, since it got released recently whether there are any issues with it? I thought maybe to wait for the next version or is it safe to jailbreak with it?

Update iTunes to newest version, update phone to newest version through iTunes, run GreenPoison?

Since I've JB I've upgraded from a PC to a MAC. To be honest all I want to make sure is my photos do not go missing during the process.

Just sync your photos before you do the upgrade to be safe.

I'm tempted to do this myself, but it will be my first jailbreak. What happens when 4.3 comes out though? Do you have to wipe your phone and start over from scratch, or is there an easy upgrade path?

It shouldn't during the sync but it will when you upgrade. If you want to upgrade to 4.2.1 but save your baseband you may want to check out the tutorial on the TinyUmbrella site.

Ran RC6 over RC5 worked like a charm.

You won't be able to keep your JB with 4.3 if you upgrade. Basically you plug your phone in and click restore, it will download 4.3 and install it with no JB

I jailbroke my sister in law's brand new Verizon iPhone 4 (4.2.6) a mere three hours after she got it yesterday with GreenPois0n RC6 and it went smooth as can be. Not a single hiccup

I have an IP4 and the JB went very smooth. couple problems, pkgbackup did not work and now I can't find bitesms in cydia to reinstall.....is there something i'm not doing?

I went directly from tethered 4.2.1 to untethered. No restore needed.
