mine gets delivered tomorrow - if it's still broken (which i think it will be) or has dead pixels, it's going back....

Mine is also shipped today 23th April
Coming on 29th April

Difficult to type with the fingers crossed...

Same for me...mine shipped today...I think I will receive it by the next week (and I still have the "old" one)

Keep fingers crossed...

I just got my FedEx labels and am dropping it off at a FedEx shipper this afternoon. The labels are 2-Day Express from NC to PA. Store shows replacement is being built but awaiting return. I figure they will get it Monday so hopefully replacement will ship late next week and I will get it before May 4th.

I just hope it works.

What makes no sense to me is this:

Apple says they want the machine in house so their "people" can inspect them. However, they have you depot it to PA? That is a hawl from CA where their "people" are located. So either they are lying AGAIN or they will have to turn around and ship it from PA to CA to get their "people" to look at it.

Personally, I think they are lying.

well i called today about my crashing problems and they apparently are oblivious to the issues occurring with the imacs and the guy wanted me to repair the disc and reinstall the operating system to see if that helps

UGHHH

so i told him uuuhh sure ill do taht and call u back.

im just gonna wait a day and call them back. its obviously not an isolated incident im not going to waste my time doing that crap.

Is it that hard to believe that maybe Apple has a repair center in PA? You can't seriously believe that they do EVERYTHING out of Cupertino, CA ???

My replacement will be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if I have the same freeze problem. I returned my first iMac on the 21st, it was received the 22nd by Apple. My second shipped the 22nd and will arrive the 24th.

My plan after running all updates and setting up my wireless network: begin importing all my "stuff" from Time Machine backup from first iMac while at the same time going to the Applications folder and running every sing application at once while at the same time listening to iTunes music and watching YouTube, Hulu, ABC, NBC, SouthPark etc. videos. That was my typical "freeze test" with the first one, and never failed me.

I'll let y'all know what happens.

i just ran every program on my dock (18) had you tube going , hulu and itunes visualizer while backing up to time machine via my time capsule and it didn't freeze.

I have had two freezes so far. I've been on wifi the whole time.

I'm not sure if i'm in the clear or if these are just random crashes that are unrepeatable.

Wow! How long did you run it like that? My first iMac wouldn't have lasted more than a few minutes doing that. Are your crashes the same as have been reported by others: frozen screen, looping sound blip that sounds like a skipping record, no response from keyboard, etc?

That's a silly charge, they run a large global business and are trying to figure out what is going on. We have a much smaller organization and can't keep everyone on the same page, especially when something is wrong. As far as where it goes, they have reasons for where they are sending it. All they want to do is find the source of this problem (I bet they already know), minimize the damage, and have happy customers.

Anyways, let us know.

I'm hoping the later I receive it, the better chance it'll be fixed.

I don't mean to speak for him or anything, but it doesn't matter. one crash on a mac's first week after birth is unacceptable (excluding software blames)

Well that was quick.. my replacement arrived today at work!

I rang to request my replacement on Monday 20 April

I was originally told to expect delivery on the 6th May

I then recieved an email saying it was being shipped and to expect delivery on the 28th

THEN i get a call from the loading bay at work today saying it has arrived.

Very quick turn around.

can anyone reccomend tests that I can do to as soon as I unpack it to try and bring on the freezing issue?

Try watching 3 HD(1080p) trailers or more simultaneously from apple website while on wifi.

It always worked for me ;)

iTunes visualization did the trick for others(with wifi active).

If you do a lot of stuff with wifi activated and does not freezes chances are that you have a good one

Yeah, I'm in the US. That sucker went out for delivery a few minutes ago. Now my patience will really be tested.

You're very right - I'm still within the 14 days and am debating on calling :apple: anyway just to let them know.

I only ran it like that for about 10 minutes.

Will try the three HD trailers and see if that consistently sets it off.

HHM

Just did three playing at once (actually playing again as i type) and nothing wrong so far.

Previously i did have the freeze and audio clipping while watching fringe on hulu.
