4GB Limit to last awhile?

I guess I'm wrong. My apologies to motulist. How much latency is there?

So little it is barely noticeable in general use. However if you are doing massive simulations then over time it will add up. However it is usually offset by the fact that the simulations go faster with more memory.

With some types of memory it does actually slow the system down. RIMM's get slower (higher latency) as you add more memory in. .

yeah and how many new machines do you see shipping with RIMM's?
