I was able to set my output via HDMI 3840x2160, however everything on my desktop of course looks micro sized compared to 1080p. When playing back videos via VLC or Kodi, is there a difference between setting it at 3840x2160 vs. 1080p?

Is there a significant difference between using HDMI port vs. Thunderbolt w/ adapter to HDMI or are both pretty much the same?

If anyone does find themselves in a room with a 4k monitor and a 2014 Mac mini please post your findings. I don't game so I could get away with 30hz but definitely not ideal.
hi , i had the same doubt and can confirm the mini 2014, does work at 4k 30hz, please note nobody clarifies this, the entry level mini 2014 has intel 5000, while the mid and high end mini of the 2014 gen both have intel iris, well all of them support 4k at 30 hz, you can purchase with confidence, have a nice day !
