The Nano is for kids saving up allowance (where $70 DOES make a difference) and people at the gym (who don't want a touchscreen or a larger device).
This is still a large market, but yes, that's about it. The iPod Classic and Touch will stick around as side items in Apple's empire, but that's it. The iPod Touch IS the iPod now, no doubt about it.
I'm considering getting one of these now... I was going to get a Touch, but now I'm not so sure...
Because its much larger, allowing to accommodate a larger battery.i dont get why the ipod touch has a better battery life then the nano
What a flop! I, like everyone else, was so excited for this event. I spent the last hour watching updates on Gizmodo and Engadget, and for what? To hear exactly what I already knew was going to happen? This is definitely the most disappointed I have ever been as an Apple supporter. For someone with over 32 gb of music and without AT&T (can't get an iPhone), this event means absolutely nothing to me. The Zune seems awfully tempting right now.
They dropped the 160 classic? That's too bad, I've got about 130GB of music and was looking to buy one in the next year or so. Guess I may have to buy sooner if some are still in stock

So glad I got myself a 160GB classic a few weeks ago![]()
I also hope the accelerometer feature is something you can disable, especially for running and biking.
I was just thinking that. If it isn't, Apple has made a very large mistake and I am sure an update will be right around the corner.
that shake to shuffle is a really neat idea..
Why are they dropping capacity on the classic? I was hoping for a modest increase to 180gb or 200gb. Pressure from record companies? Hmmm.
