Yes, I've never seen a PCIe slot take ~75W before on a PC either. Mini 6-pin might be able to deliver enough power with the EVGA PowerLink but it would easily reach the limits of that standard before it has to shutdown. Seems strange how Apple put a 980W power supply into their workstation, yet they use a standard which can't take powerful GPUs. Didn't the G5's use just use the PCIx slot's for power as those Quadro FX cards didn't require additional power??? (Seems like the 7800 GT and one of the compatible Quadro's used a single full-size 6-pin)
