Yes, I have mine and the battery would only last 15 minutes on them if that, or cut out after a few minutes. I sent them to thePodswap.com and got replacements and now they are great again. I use them at work and have my airpods pro for home and yard work as they have better noise cancelation on them when I am on the zero turn lawn mower. They are great ear plugs with different tips!

Thanks to everyone for adding the personal anecdotes with their pods. I've come to the conclusion that, for myself, the benefits of Bluetooth/AirPods aren't enough for me to give up my wired headphones just yet. That's not to say they won't eventually convince me... my first iPhone was the 4. :)

My right AirPod has become nonfunctional most of the time. True when using iPhone or iPad. Damn near worthless.

They hold a charge for about 30 seconds to two minutes at most. So while they do connect and play back audio and everything else, they are essentially useless because of the completely depleted batteries in both earpieces.

I bought them in January 2018 and they started "dying" very rapidly and suddenly sometime in late 2019, early 2020. Which is expected, but it was still very frustrating.

The charging case, however, does seem to hold 2-3 charges and I totally would use it with a pair of 2nd Gen AirPods. Except no retailer I've come across offers (genuine) replacement AirPods that are cheaper than just buying a completely new set of 2nd Gen AirPods.

I have APP now and I'm quite happy with them except for some issues with the "auto"-switching on M1 mini and M1 iMac(I actually have to go ethernet only and turn off Wifi for Bluetooth to be usable).
You can set your airpods to ‘not automatically connect’ on one device in the bluetooth settings
