Just got this email from Apple:

Dear Mrt209,

Your current 50GB subscription has been discontinued, and will not automatically renew.

Regards,

Apple

I didn't cancel my subscription so I'm confused. Did Apple discontinue the plan or did they just cancel mine? In the past when they've discontinued a plan they've always upgraded me to the knew one.

I tried to check under "change storage plan" in the iCloud settings but keeps on saying can't connect to iCloud.

Thanks

It's not just you - I received the same form letter email today also.

At the very least, they could have included a link to an explanation why.

It seems that Apple has discontinued the 50 GB plan.

Here(-ish)
It seems that Apple has discontinued the 50 GB plan.
When I try to check my storage plan, I get an error message:

Even after restarting, I get the same error message on my iPhone. What gives?

[doublepost=1492599578][/doublepost]Did any of you previously have an annual plan?

I get the same error as you when I select Change Storage Plan. Otherwise, Manage Storage seems to show everything as it should be.

I'm on the 50GB plan, paying monthly. Never paid annually.

I haven't got an email from Apple yet to say it's been discontinued though. Have you?

Also got the email, was on the 50GB plan per month. Also logged into iTunes and then subscriptions and it says Apple Music is discontinued too?

Maybe this is a big mistake on Apple's end?

That's even weirder -- yours says you have the largest storage plan available, but that's definitely not right as you're on 50GB.

I'd wager that if you selected Dowgrade Options, you'll get a similar error with Cannot Connect to iCloud.

Nope! Weird...

I clicked through and it gives me the option to downgrade to the 5GB option...
[doublepost=1492601085][/doublepost]Could it be something to do with an announcement tomorrow?

Ho hum.

Well one thing's for sure: either there's an iCloud issue, or Apple are revising some storage tiers/pricing at the moment. Apple's system status currently shows as all OK, but when has that ever meant anything? :p

Just got this email from Apple:

Same here. And when I try to reinstate it also says can't connect to iCloud.

I tried to check under "change storage plan" in the iCloud settings but keeps on saying can't connect to iCloud.

Unsurprisingly, Apple Support haven't a clue and they don't much care (slow day at work, figured I'd check). Ah well, looks like we'll wait it out and see what the system status says, or until MacRumors reports on it.
