Because it is a 36 megapixels camera that produce images at 7,360 x 4,912. Therefore it is a "7K" camera.

Appreciate the effort, but no. An iPhone 6 photo is not in any way, shape or form good enough to display on a 5K iMac (in my humble, humble opinion). The DNR sucks all the enjoyment out of sharp photos, no to mention the sensor is simply not good enough anyway.

Oh no question there. Funny, cause I actually have a Mark III. It's in the corner of the room. I can never be bothered to use it these days. The wife has a Sony RX100 MKIII (the "other Mark III," as I call it), and it's so much more convenient to tote around.

Hopefully the next iPhones will have some seriously improved sensor tech.

You referring to a Canon 5D3 ? I have this camera, along with a 6D and they're amazing ! Full res images is more than 5K as well.

Honestly, I was being sarcastic. I carry a Sony NEX-5n with 18-200mm and 50mm f/1.8 lenses. And my fantastic iPhone 6
Those super Nikon and Canon cameras are insane on the quality of photo that they can generate, but it would have to be making me money for me to own one. My APS-C sensor works just fine to take photos of my garden, pets and soon to be born baby girl.

This is exceptionally good. Artistic, minimal, not too much going on, nice palette of colours and gradations. Really nice.

Does anybody have this wallpaper/does anybody know where I can find this one? It is found in the official "Introducing iMac with Retina 5K display" video on Apple's YouTube channel and shown during the Keynote about the 5K iMac.
