Right but you said "easily upgraded to 6 or even 10 core dual chips when they come out this year", as a reason to choose a dual socket MP now.

My point is that no, you won't be easily upgrading any 2010 MP to a 10 core CPU.

6 core we could do it this year for less than what apple would charge
and than whatever after that
still would be cheaper than going from single chip to dual

If it were ever possible, you'd still have to replace the tray with the CPU/RAM sockets, and the HSF mechanisms, so it would probably be essentially the same upgrade (were it possible).
