Here's an article on the problem:

But the gist of it is that new 6+TB drives omit center screw holes on the drive, and the Mac Pro (and NAS' like Synology) expect to use those center holes. This is a real problem with the Mac Pro as only the front screws can clip on and the drive would wobble dangling downwards.

I called OWC as they sell 6TB drives for the Mac Pro, but they have no solution.

Does anyone know of some solution. Does anyone sell sleds for the classic Mac Pro to allow you to use these new drives?

Thanks for any help.
[doublepost=1512831673][/doublepost]I've just installed a 10Tb WD Gold drive into my MacPro. Duck tape doesn't work as the clearance at the top of the fitting is too tight. I used padded double sided tape although I worry that it may lose adhesion over time. I think the best solution is to drill the required 2 holes in the sledge. I reckon UV 'glue' may work well too

Silly not to spend he 20 bucks on a proper solution.

Totally agree - indeed I regret not ordering an additional sled for future updates, or to replace one of the existing ones that is missing its “saucer” or “nut” (not sure what the correct word is, it is the attached to the screw, on both sides of the sled)
