I am sure that this has been discussed before but couldn't find a thread. For those of you that switched from a 6+ to 7+, are you happy? Are the differences worth the swap?

Thanks for the feedback!

Really? I've been on the 6+ since it came out and felt it was a decent performer. I can't wait to see what the 7+ will be like. The issues I experience are little waits such as using the fingerprint to unlock takes longer than I'd like.

Waiting for things to launch isn't terrible but any speed improvement would be great.

Yes and yes.

I loved my 6+, but I could tell it was starting to get slower and with iOS10 it defeinitely started being laggy. My 7+ is much snappier.

Went from a 6+ to a regular size 7 but the same applies. MASSIVE upgrade. If you had an S I'd say differently but moving from the standard 6+ to a 7 of either size will be a night and day difference.

Thanks for all of the feedback. You guys liking the camera a lot as well? I have seen mixed reviews but that is definitely one thing I would like an improvement on.

I was happy with my 6+, have only had my 7+ for a couple of days. So far I am content, but not thrilled. It actually crossed my mind to return the new phone, but I won't do that. Camera is definitely better. I am fine with the new home button after being apprehensive about it. I can't really tell a difference in the improved screen. I think I can tell a difference in the speakers, but that's not a big deal. I was satisfied with the speed and battery life of the old phone, and based on limited use I am still satisfied with the new one. Those who do heavy gaming or number crunching on their phones will presumably be more impressed by the new processors. If I have a water incident I'm sure I'll be grateful for the sealing improvements.

I'm a serious amateur photographer, so the Biggest improvement for my uses is the significantly improved camera, but it still isn't good enough to replace the high end pocket camera I use when I know in advance I'm going to want a camera.

I want to get into the Apple Upgrade Program, and I got a good price selling my older phone. Those pushed me into keeping the new phone, but I definitely consider this an optional luxury upgrade. I'm not unhappy, and the phone is as advertised. If you want it, and the cost of the upgrade isn't onerous for you, you'll probably be satisfied, but I doubt you're making a mistake if you skip this time around.

I was happy with my 6+, but with iOS 10 it was definitely starting to slow down a touch. I thought I could wait for the next big revision, but found a MB 128GB ATT and grabbed it. It's very noticeably faster, and the camera is also noticeably superior. I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade if the $ is there for you.

Battery is a bit better✔️
Cameras is a lot better✔️
The performance is but by not a lot✔️
The 256gb memory was a huge bonus for me✔️
Display is slightly better than the 6s+✔️
The matte black is just so damn sexy imo!✔️

Those were the upgrades for me. Main thing was memory and camera as I make a lot of videos of work etc.
I was planning on getting the jet black but with those scuffs and marks etc will lower the resale value a bit more, which is another reason for the matte black!

The camera is much better. The camera add loads up faster and the quality is better. The front facing camera is much better too.

I wasn't sure about the home button at first, but now, the old-style button feels strange to me.

Not having a headphone jack doesn't bother me, I use Bluebird Bluetooth earbuds.

I don't really notice a difference in the screen, looking at it vs. my boss's 6s+, it does look maybe a tad more yellow/warm, but it could be the older screens were just more blue/cool.

I went from a 6+ to a 7+ & noticed an immediate improvement overall. I may be the odd one, but I really enjoy the new touch ID. The speakers are a lot louder on the 7+. I noticed I have to LOWER the volume on the 7+ vs raising it (and wanting to raise it higher than it can go) on the 6+. Watching movies without headphones.... I can finally hear it and not even at MAX volume.

The camera is definitely an improvement over the 6+. A lot faster to load and the pictures are better quality.

Don't get me wrong, the 6+ is a great phone IMHO, but the 7+ is a lot better. If you have $$ I would purchase a 7+.

Thanks! a little background too... My company pays for my plan and phone (unfortunately, we only have the option of the basic 6). You can also purchase your own device, which is what I did two years ago and I went with the 6+. I am now debating on selling it and grabbing the 7+. I have one reserved at Target - Just need to bite the bullet.

I really enjoy the seamless look of the jet black phone. The antenna bands are not easy to spot!

As others have stated, the speed and camera are very good improvements. I am glad to have the 3d touch or force touch (whatever they call it on the iphone - why is it different everywhere?). It's a feature I looked forward to having after seeing improvements with it in iOS 10 (I knew it would take a little time to fully adopt the feature) I'm slowly trying to learn all the short cuts - would be nice if there was a list of uses for it somewhere!

This is my first upgrade after owning an apple device... but it does feel like what I would expect out of an 'S' upgrade.

I spent a few minutes playing around with it, but it wasn't long before I thought "Well, this isn't much different that my 6+" but it was worth it to me.

I went from a 6+ to a 7+ and I love it.

- 3D Touch really changes the way I interact with my phone. I love being able to use it when I get a notification on my lock screen. Using it for short cuts like the camera is awesome and fast!
- Using "Hey Siri" without it connected to power is awesome! Siri responds much faster now.
- The camera is unreal! The pictures come out clear and sharp. The front facing camera is sharp also. It is nice to have the display flash when you're in a dark environment.
- The speed of this phone is unheard of. Everything is smooth and snappy.
- I love the feedback I get from the taptic engine when scrolling through my contacts or setting an alarm.
- Raise to wake (is taking me a minute to get used to) is awesome. I feel like I am using the sleep/wake button much less now.
- The home button also does take some getting used to but I love the way it feels.
- The display (although has the same resolution) is gorgeous. The colors pop and are vibrant. The display is a little warmer but more accurate.
- iOS 10 comes alive with the iPhone 7+.
- All of the new messaging effects are really fast and responsive. I haven't noticed any lag.
- Apps open almost instantly.
- The stereo speakers sounds great. They're almost to loud at times (just my opinion).
- Touch ID is very fast and responsive!

These are all things I noticed right away coming from a 6+ to a 7+. I am very happy with my decision. I was very skeptical at first and was considering on waiting another year. I had my 6+ since it launched in September of 2014. I only had the 7+ for about 24 hours and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I'm on a 6+ now and with ios10 it is the best it's ever been. Super fast and no animation delays like I saw on the 7+

I'll still get a 7 Plus but still not sure about the new home button or brightness.

Camera with 2x zoom looks great but really nothing else exciting. Force Touch will be fun but really looking to a redesign next year and will get it too.

My reasons for upgrading from the 6+ to the 7+:

1. Storage space. 64gb ain't enough for me. And I said the next electronic I get I'm going to get the top level, and the 256gb is that.

2. My iPod classic is 9 years old, so if it breaks, I have enough storage to store all of my music.

3. Battery life. My phone is now 2 years old, and I'm used to upgrading every 2.

4. The new features, more ram, camera, speed, etc etc.

5. Data. Switching to verizon I am able to increase my data by 5x for only about $20 more a month. If I feel it's too much then I will go down. and NFL Mobile.

Also, I firmly believe there will be a 7S, and I don't like being on the incremental cycle. The iPhone has reached maturity and it's not much you can do besides kill the bezel and home button. After they do that, then what do ya'll expect from them?

mine is the opsite since iOS 10 its a little slower and also notice a slit decline in battery life. also my wife had to replace her screen on her 6 with in year of having it we learn at the Genius bar that a lot of 6 have problem with the screen not responding anymore. to be honest i think the 6s is better build hardware and iOS runs better on it as well but since i am upgrading might as well go for the latest version, i am a part of the apple program so i can up grade every year i if i want to.

I'm fortunate that I can upgrade each year, but for the first time since buying the 1st generation iPhone I felt that I could have skipped this generation and not missed much. That's not to say it's a bad device by any means, however, I'm not blown away by the improvements.

I agree with the above. Battery is also better because the 6 plus has declined over two years.

I upgraded my wife on sprint, even though she didn't really care. It's a free upgrade! What are we losing? Whenever she upgrades again, her phone will be worth that much more.

I'm on Verizon and I have a 6 plus 64 moving to a 7 plus 256. I think it's costing me around 250 but my line goes from 40 a month to 20. Again, why wouldn't I upgrade?
Now if I had a 6s and wasn't getting a great price on a trade in then I might reconsider, but for many of us it seems as though the deal is as important as the phones improvements.
