I've had my 7 Plus for a month now and I've continued to have issues. First, cellular service, which was fixed with 10.0.3. Then the dropped frames in iOS 10. Now my bottom speaker does not work. I know these aren't HUGE issues but if you're paying $850 for a phone, it better be damn near perfect. Its as if Apple rushed these to the market as well, even though there isn't a whole lot different with this phone. Now I'm considering returning the device and get a 6S Plus... What do you guys think?

I did return to 6S Plus after 10 days of trial with 7 Plus. iPhone 7 had been expected for a long time, and that's why it is now under very heavy worldwide demand, which may account for its lack of reliability and performance. Apple managed a marketing "tour de force" by triggering very high desire among people with very low technical improvements on their latest iPhone. So I think you are right, returning to 6S Plus will not make you feel any difference, and, what's more, the very few technical issues 6 Plus faced shortly after release have now been fixed, making it a performant and reliable device.

Just newly signed up to this forum to reply to this thread. Been as an iphone user just for 3 years, from 5c, 5s, 6s and now 7.

I have to say getting a perfect 7 is really a lottery-winning thing. This is my 4th 7 and all of the 4 phones had this or that problems.

1st one had a very yellow and uneven screen, and of course dim. 2nd one and 3rd one with yellow and dim screen, and I could tell these two phones are very likely refurbished ones from the details on the body of the phones - dust under screen protector and in the screen gap and even some sticky dirt on the up left corner of the screen and some weird color seemed to caused by oily fingers on the back...

The 4th is a brand new one I can be sure, of couse still yellow screen, but I can accept that since it's almost even. When I thought things can finally come to a happy end, the battery problem sprung out...

It's been so exhausting and money/time wasting playing this iphone 7 lottery.

I agree that apple delivers good after-sale service and ios system is the best mobile operating system amongst all, but the hardware issue is just a disaster.

Sorry to hear that. My iPhone 7 has been flawless since I got it on launch day.

Your really lucky! I wish I could have that luck. The thing is that there are perfect screens and perfect phones, but the rate and chance is really low. I am curious how apple picked out those phones with beautiful and bright screens as display in the stores. I went to 3 stores and checked all the phones. Screen wise they were all of same good quality. No uneven yellow tint, what's more, their screens were even whiter and brighter and more beautiful than my 6s!

Any one of those issues would warrant a return. Return it.

Wait a few months until the kinks are worked out and order another. Skip the 6S Plus at this point.

Lol, wut??
He clearly says that at least two of the 3 were minor software bugs.
You would suggest returning a phone for spotty service, rather than applying the patch/update that corrects that minor issue??
Lol, remind me to NEVER ask you for advice!!!
If having dropped frames is a KNOWN iOS 10 issue, wtf would getting a new phone or not getting a new phone have to do with it??
Literally, the only "returnable" hardware issue mentioned is the speaker, and ABSOLUTELY he should trade it in for one with a functional speaker.
Like immediately.
Again here, your advice is nonsensical... he should "wait a few months until the kinks are worked out", to get one with a functional speaker??
No offense, but you are TERRIBLE at giving advice.

To OP:
Sorry you got a phone w/ a minor defect. It happens to everyone eventually! Swap it out for a "damn near perfect" one & enjoy!!! =)

Returned mine due to 4g connection issues and asked for a refund. Got a OnePlus 3 and I am really enjoying it. I will never ever pay 800 pounds again for a smartphone, that's for sure.

That's weird that you're having such hard luck. Have you tried calling Apple and seeing what they'd say? Obviously getting it replaced but if you've done it at a store maybe try another store and see if you get lucky?

Yeah I called apple and their technician advised me to go to the store to have my phone checked coz after the technician heard my description of problem, she couldn't tell what this problem was related to either...

I finally decided to return it instead of taking the risk of missing the 14 day deadline. Feel very exhausted coz dunno what model else I can choose. Im already used to iphone and dont wanna change brand. My friend suggest I buy a 6s again, but I worry the 6s screen supplier for now might be the same supplier of 7.

Here in France, a lot of people say that 7 has been "piss-finished". And not only due to screen issues.

Is this something that you're only seeing with the Plus? Or also with the regular 7?

People shouldn't make generalized statements. Sometimes you just get a faulty device.

It sucks that it's you, but it can happen to anyone, purchasing anything. A piece of fruit might look great on the outside but not taste so good. Does it mean all of the apples at the store are bad?

I haven't noticed a hissing issue with my phone (not that I've been actively looking anyway). As for the phone getting hot, I do feel it through my case but I know that's just the processors doing heavy computing. I rescheduled my Apple Store appt for Thursday so lets see what happens...
