If you drag race a BMW 325 against a BMW 330, expect the 330 to win every time. Faster is faster.

..not if the the bloke in the 330 can't drive... It's not the car, it's the driver.

i realized another thing for 120 5400 HDs. you know, desktop hard drives are a LOT bigger than notebook drives. they range from 160 to 500 and up. well, in order to make the notebook a lot more independant and useful, it's hard drive capacity should be maximized.

i mean, 100 gb is actually not much anymore on desktop standards. my ibook is the only computer i use now, and i store everything on it. so i maxed it out to 100gb. now i am using around 70% of space. external hard drives aren't that convenient either.

a tiny boost to speed compared to 20 gb? 20 gb anyday. a bit faster hard drive isn't going to be helpful. "wow! i saved 4 seconds of loading unreal tournament! wow! i loaded safari 0.01 seconds faster!" i just don't think it's worth the sacrifice. if you have 20 gb more, imagine how many more games, movies, videos, music, photoes, and other things you can store on your computer. it always maximizes it's effectiveness as a computer.

i think that P:ro is saying is that the difference is very blurred, sometimes you will have a huge difference, sometimes you will not. also, the brands will make a significant difference too. he just wants to show some real proff and performance benchmarks for people to decide if the extra speed is worth it.
