Thanks for sharing. Didn't even know that was a thing. Makes sense, just didn't know. And I am amused to discover that, by default, my volume has no limit.

I’m trying to play music through a world class sound system for our church and have this very issue. Sounds like music is coming out of a can. Horrible! I’ve tried 2 apple adapters with zero success. Anyone else find a solution?!

When I first got my 8 Plus I definitely had a bad lightning to audio dongle. Everything sounded terrible through it. I just got it swapped at the Apple Store and the new one worked fine. So I don't have any suggestion other than trying yet another adapter. Seems like some of them are just defective. ?‍♂️
