So the latest WD Black 6TB is still the "correct" mounting hole like you said here?
I tried calling WD support today to confirm but they were absolutely worthless... they said they only know what's on the website and can't find out.

My HDD is the WD Red 6TB. Not black.

And from members report. It seems there are more than one version of WD 6TB. I was purely lucky got the “correct” one. Some one said his WD 6TB Red came with the new mount points.

Unearthing this thread two years later. Is it still the same situation when it comes to larger drives and holes not aligned? Any HD recommendation for video files? I need loooooots of storage space for a documentary.

I found these custom printed 3D sleds for my MacPro1,1 machine (now a hackintosh). Cost me $20 for 4 of them! Hope they pan out.

And for the day OWC no longer sells the Mac Pro 4,1 - 5,1 ( 2009 - 2012 ) Universal HDD Sleds we have from the same designer :

OWC also charges around $20 each for their custom HDD aluminum carriers .

Wait ... you made a Hackintosh out of your Mac ? The irony .

Upon double checking I realized this one is sold as a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter, you're sure it works for 3.5" new screw layout to original 3.5"?

i use it on all of my cMP with the original sleds

Sorry, I misunderstood.
because I used to use a blue OWC adapter for my SSDs.
and I thought you were looking for a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter

so, this sabrent adapter wont work with 3,5 drives
