Hello,
Has anyone upgraded an iPad 2 to 9.3?
What kind of performance are you seeing?
Does it run better than 9.2.1 ?

I tried. It is stuck on trying to reach the server for setup. I do not have a way to connect it to iTunes on a computer.

Installed it on an iPad 2 (not Air 2 in this case).

Initial findings: seems the same, maybe slightly faster than iOS 9.2.1 (could also be the fresh restart..)

BTW... I had te re-activate it, as if I had erased it... It asked for my Apple ID as I had "Find my iPad" active (i.e. the activation lock).
Strange.

Updated my iPad 2 - stuck on activation server is not responding. A lot of people have this problem, I think Apple is working on the problem.

Won't activate for me either. Wonder if it wasn't meant for the iPad 2 and that's why it won't activate. But then again it worked for some people without issues. Even iTunes can't activate mine.

I called Apple about the activation problem. The guy said that the servers are swamped, try again in an hour. My guess is that older iPads go to the back of the queue, newer ones get quicker response.

Seeing as the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S have the same chip, describing my experience here seems appropriate.

Pretty much no changes from 9.2.1 to 9.3 (for me anyway) at first there was a tiny bit of animation lag, but that cleared itself up. Apps open maybe a tad slower, but nothing to drastic. Battery life still sucks, but i manage. There has been a noticable delay in wake up time though. If i put it to sleep and then wake it up, the screen takes about 3-4 seconds to actually turn on. Seems im not the only one having this issue.

Other than that, 9.3 extends the life of my little 4S for just a few more short months.

I'm testing. Everything seems ok. Maaaybeee little bit faster. But it's an old device, we shouldn't expect any miracles here ;-)

P.S. Mine also stucked on activation (was using iTunes to upgrade). Reseting hosts file helped.

Some commands that used to work now do not for me.
One I used to use a lot was "Read my last message" or "What was my last message from Bill". Now it just looks for new or unread messages. Disappointing.

Just updated mine. Took a really long time on the apple logo but eventually came through. No issue at activation screen.

Updated my iPad 2 two days ago; update went fine. Cannot see any performance difference compared to 9.2.1. Especially Safari feels very heavy, it reacts slowly.

The iPad 2 activation issue seems to be happening only with iPad 2 3G if the update is over the air.

I have an old iPad 2 that's been passed down to my 4 yr old daughter. When I upgraded it to 9.0 it was so bad that she literally cried. I waited for a few days to see if the iPad improved. It didn't so I downgraded it to 8.4.1. The screaming stopped. I don't dare risk more screaming so I think I'll keep it there :)

I installed 9.3 over wifi onto my iPad 2, and that was that. Safari crashes seem far less frequent and the News app is more stable. It appears that this is a smoother and faster version of 9.2.1 but time will tell.

Try turning off JavaScript. Some sites need it, but turning it off really helps make Safari react faster on A5 devices.
