Just traded in my 9.7 for the 10.5. I’m not a real screen connisour, but it is definitely lighter, the screen real estate is bigger and it is faster.

iPad Pro 10.5 inch isn't that much bigger compared to iPad Pro 9.7 because it has smaller bezels.. I mean it is only .45 inch taller and .21 inch wider. So for me iPad Pro 10.5 inch will be supported for 1 year longer than A9/A9X devices.
Just like This:
iOS 11: A7 Devices and up
iOS 12: A8/A8X or higher
iOS 13: A9/A9X or higher
iOS 14: A10/A10X
iOS 15: A11 chip (iPhone 8)

So for iPad Pro 10.5 inch it is actually 2 Times more powerful than iPad Air 2 in geekbench score. iPad AIr 2 multi core is around 4500 while the 10.5 pro is 9300 and that is more than doubled!!

True sister, iPad Pro 10.5 that comes with iOS 10 will still support until iOS 14 unlike the A9 devices.
And It's touch id is second generation just like the iPhone 7. Plus 4GB RAM and 120Refresh rate.
As always, depends on pricing. At just $100-200 less than Pro 10.5, the Pro 9.7 doesn't make sense. Spending $300-400 more for 10.5 over the 9.7 for just one year more of support? Doesn't seem all that worth it honestly.

That said, is there a reason you're replying to your own posts? :p

After 3 years on iPad Air 1 without any problems....I had bought 10.5 at dayone but returned it after few days because using it I had eye strain and headaches. So after tried a second unit with same issue (blurry text and motion blur while scrolling), i have order a refurbished ipp 9.7 from Apple Store...I prefer have only 2gb of ram but save my eyes.

That's not the point, it should be compact and portable aswell

I agree with you.

Oh yea totally agree, it never stops. I just found it laughable to say the 10.5 is just way to big now compared to the 9.7. Maybe I was harsh.

The 10.7 is a bit wider than the 9.7. It is measurably less portable because of this width increase. I don’t understand how anyone likes multi tasking with three applications on a little 10.5 inch screen. It’s a capability, sure, but not a very useful one in my opinion. I barely like two apps on a 13 inch screen; three apps on 10 inches doesn’t sound appealing.

When OLEDs hit the iPad, the 10.5 screen will look as bad as the 9.7 Pro screen does now.

I just upgraded from a 9.7 to a 10.5 - these are very different machines! The 10.5 is superior in so many ways with only a very small increase in footprint and weight.

If you can afford the couple of hundred dollars extra, by all means the 10.5 is the one to get.

I actually don't believe OLED will ever happen with the iPad. Mainly because of yield constraints and cost related factors.

From all the readings on latest technology and it's been rumored Apple is working with Micro-Led, which is highly efficient, brighter, eliminates Back lighting, Much wider color Gamut and draws less battery power.

THIS!!! Really..
See!?? I have already told you Guys that iPad Pro's aspect ration should be at least 3:2 to improve its multi tasking due to increase length. While the regular iPad such as Air or Mini or the 5th generation iPad stayed at 4:3. Because iPad Pro is better to run 3 apps at a time and with 3:2 the 10.5 inch will be almost 9inch and just as tall as the iPad 9.7 inch right??

4:3 is so 90's by the way just like an Old Television with a black and white screen display.

Note the comment regarding 2-app split-view multitasking on 12.9 (10.3 x 7.7). I doubt making the 10.5 3:2 aspect ratio at 8.7 x 5.8 would've made a difference for the poster.

Having used 16:10 Android tablets (very close to 3:2 aspect), I like the balance on 4:3 iPads better. Also, app support would be even more problematic.

I don't understand the hype about OLED. At least for the Samsung screens that I see, the colors look so over saturated and artificial. However, the black is much better.

There Definitely is distinct difference between LED and OLED. I have always been used to LED all these years with the iPhone . I will say OLED is fairly vibrant in color. You are correct, the blacks are much deeper because the pixel is turned off and it looks more natural. I will say LG makes a very nice OLED TV.

Apple Watch is oled. If iPhone 8 is oled that would be another point for the oled camp. We’ll see.
