What setting did this guy have for the 9 hours and 31 minute amazing battery life when constantly using the phone?

I know Toms Hardware did a battery test too on the iPhone 14 Pro Max and got 14 hours something minutes. Does anyone know what setting he used as well? Doubt he constantly used it but I could be wrong.

I was literally about to make a post about this. Wanted to know what others were getting on their 14 Pro Max’s. I feel like my battery is noticeably worse than my 13 Pro Max.

Granted I’ve only had it for 2 days, so some background process might still be going on. Will have to wait until a week or so to see if there really is a meaningful change in battery life. Could also be iOS 16.

Currently at 9 hrs and 32 minutes of screen on time, and it’s been off the charger since about 4 AM. I’ll see how it feels throughout the week.

Great minds think a like :)

Thanks for the info! Will keep you updated as well.

I actually find the battery life of the 14 Pro Max to be amazing. I believe it’s a little bit better than the 13.
I am using the device extensively today and have 44% left, with at least 5 hours on screen time. Things are looking pretty great if you ask me..

Here are my stats from today:

Thanks!

What do you all think realistically for normal usage the iPhone 14 Pro Max will give most people in battery life ?

I know no one uses their phone constantly. Mean maybe sometimes but not for 9 hours. lol Unless I am wrong. I could be.

In my opinion all day easy. Set amount of time hard to say.

If tests are coming out at 9 hours and Apple are claiming 27 surely that’s a major case of false advertising? Or am I missing something?

This is just for video playback.
Apple said all day battery life and it is certainly true. With a bit of luck you could get two days.
I am used to charging my phone every night, so I don’t really care. It’s fantastic that we don’t have to worry about battery life anymore and if the phone will last through the day. The 14 Pro Max (and it’s predecessor also) have an amazing battery life.

Yep.

If you played a very graphical intense game your smartphone would become a door stopper or brick in the matter of hours. 2 to 3 hours about. 4 hours if your lucky.

Though I doubt anyone mobile games for that long when out and about.

I wonder how much AOD will affect battery life by keeping it on, on an average day. That's gonna be fun to figure out.

Trying to do that right now!

Hopefully it works ok.

How do I run the same kind of test like in that video ?

If possible.

Ok turned off AOD and get even better battery life!

Can't decide if I will leave it off or not. Hmmm

I turned off AOD last night because it was keeping me awake. I have been told that using Sleep focus will turn it off. We'll see. I've had AOD on all day, started the day at 100%. It's 9:50pm now after a pretty hard day's use, because it's new and I've been messing around with it all day. The battery is at 57%, which to me seems quite good. Considering how much it's been used today, I'm pretty happy with that.

I feel like mine isnt great compared to what I’ve seen in that video and online. I’m only on day 2 though, so I’ll give it some more time

Posted in a separate thread but will add my data here as well

Heavy use for ~9-10 hours non-stop with GPS, watching videos, Uber/web browsing and phone dropped to 20%. Seems solid.

I agree first full day (granted still indexing) with 14 PM, VERY heavy usage all day, Ways for 4 hours, lot of internet, online shopping, Mac rumors, Facebook, life 360 days is over and still have 39% (and yes have AO! which I love) and a lot of widgets.. just when I consider going to Pro, just can't due to battery...

Few thoughts —

-Turn off Bluetooth if not using.
-Set phone face down when not using (if AOD is active).
-Certain games and apps can definitely drain the battery faster.
-Certain websites can definitely drain the battery faster.
-Check screen brightness level.
-Turn off location services if not needed.
-A weak cell or wi-fi signal might cause greater battery drain.

Mr. Mobile stated in his review that AOD drained 4% overnight in 7 hours.
