Even though I seldom post here, has been lurking all these while, I can't express how sad I am.

I'm wondering what's happening with eva01. I haven't seen him on the forums for a while and he was having a lot more trouble than I was.

There are apparently more people on these forums who are quietly having trouble.

If my experience can just help someone else, anyone else, it would be worthwhile.

I understand. Hopefully, you can keep us updated about your well-being from time to time. :)

And an even bigger thanks back at ya..

Although I haven’t had much interaction with you bousozoku it saddens me when a valued member of the MR Community is in a difficult position -- and from your comments I feel even more saddened as you battle your demons.

As a relatively novice member I appreciate your advice and contribution to this forum and have never felt any of your comments or actions as a moderator were ever out-of-line.

From what you have said in your posts in this thread I wish I had the courage and strength to do what you have been doing while facing such personal hardship.

I look forward to your continued advice and contribution to MR - however frequent or infrequent

Yes, as we speak there are a number of members having personal crises of various kinds. Each one is as individual as the affected people and none of them should be ignored if we can be of help.

As friends in this community, many of us would like to help you, bousozoku. I know a kind cyber-word isn't a panacea, and the problems you have been facing for so long are not easy to understand, but members who know you are here anytime you want to talk. Please use our support in any way it can help.

The strange thing about this is, sitting there with you and your wife eating back in 2005 and not being able to tell you what was happening. It just felt so good to be back in California and near the Pacific Ocean again. I had to return at that time and it must have fixed something temporarily.

I feel as though I'm being selfish. Can we help anyone else here?

Oh, and zap2, I'll probably end up washing up on the Jersey shore. You know what I'm saying.

You've always had that instinct to help others, but I think we can spare a thread just for you too. It's not selfish at all to talk about what's on your mind; we each get to do that here. By the way, eva01 is still around; search for posts and you'll find some of his recent ones.

Some of the "in distress" threads I've seen generated sympathy and that's all the poster wanted at the time. In the cases where they really asked for help, they were usually asking for ideas for dealing with a problem, or confirmation that they were doing the right thing in dealing with it.

I personally own the Pacific Ocean but I'll gladly share it with you again anytime, whether you can explain how it affects you or not.

I'm glad that eva01 is with us still. I haven't really noticed a lot of people lately, I suppose. Details have been fuzzier lately and that's not been helpful.

I wasn't really looking for sympathy but I felt the need to explain my increasingly odd behaviour and apparently, no one really noticed. :D I suppose we should be more aware of what we do to avoid later regrets.

In any case, I appreciate the kindness, especially to allow me to view the Pacific Ocean, that you and the others have shown me. I hope at this point it will all go quickly and we'll be done with it. Patience may be a virtue but I'm apparently not virtuous.

In my own skewed view of the world, life is an infinite series of problems to be solved ("bugs to be fixed"), one after the other. So my approach may not be of much use to people who are dealiing with intractable problems or have a fatalistic point of view. But I'm always willing to help with the soluble parts, like moving the ocean (a simple engineering problem, with a few minor ecological implications).

Given your unique background, I think you should write an autobiography, maybe calling it "Fear and Loathing in Floriduh", and option the film rights too.

Not at all. I'm just a crusty bastard. I've always appreciated your input, even if it didn't show.

I'd be exceedingly happy if we didn't lose your contribution to this forum. My thoughts are with you. Take care of yourself...

Thanks, and you. It's been tough to know more than a handful of people, so I should have reached out a bit more. :)

skunk:

I've heard that about you. :)

One love. bousman, gotta get back on AIM dude. Letting you know that I'm here to talk to ya about whatever, incoherent or not. :)
This better not be a suicide note

You can't go b, you're one of the few people in America that know about how crap old French (and British, and Italian and... :p) cars are. ;)

Though why do I feel like I'm missing out on something more serious??? :( All the best fella.

More serious? :D It's pretty serious. It'll all work out. I'm just not sure which way. Maybe I can be buried in a Fiat X1/9. I always liked those but they were hell to keep running and that wouldn't be a problem in this situation.

Suicide? No, that choice isn't available right now. I'd have to be in Japan to make that work.

Thanks for wanting to talk.

My thoughts are with you B, There is something magical about the California coast isn't there? :)

Good Luck,
Ed

I've never been good at good-byes, sorry

Yes, I started out in San Jose when I came to this country, after the ship sailed into San Francisco Harbour, though I don't remember too much back then. California, in general, has a magical feeling. Everytime I'm near the Pacific Ocean, I have a special feeling of being home and at rest.

No, but I'm having a whale of a good time. :p

Remember all the medical waste and rubbish that's washed up on the Jersey shore?
