Private internet Access didn't work for me until the current Yosemite release. Works fine now and very fast.

Weird. I'm on dp4 and it doesn't work for me. Wonder if we are using different versions? I notice there's two different installer names depending on where on the site you download it from.

Private Internet Access doesn't work for me.:(

update: If you use the standalone app to connect, it won't work. If you manually setup the VPN in Network Preference, it will work.

If you use the standalone app, it won't work. You'll have to manually set up the VPN info in your Network Preference.

Just wanted to post an update. I saw that PIC has a software update. After installing it, VPN now works in Safari too. (Before it only worked in Chrome for me.)

I'm running DP7.

would people reccommend privateinternetaccess?

im looking for a VPN simply for wife's macbook, ipad and our android tv box, to access uk tv.

ive had a month's trial of astrill, and the service has been excellent, but its so much more expensive than the others, especially if you want more than two devices. its 60 dollars (PIA is 40) but thats for 2 devices, one has to be computer one mobile. for 5 devices they want another 60 dollars :(

I wanted to give an update as to Private Internet Access... avoid them for the following reasons:

- China: doesn't work. It's blocked. There are some VPNs that quickly react to a country blocking its use, but PIA isn't one of them. They clearly advertise that it works in China, but I can say first hand it doesn't. During 3 hotel stays, it was blocked on all 3. While connected to China Unicom on the phone it worked, but then quickly stopped working. When I talked to support, they basically blamed it on China. I asked why they don't take down the ad saying it works in China, and they say they'll do it --- riiiiight. Some others do work there just fine.

- United Arab Emirites: doesn't work. It's blocked. Like China, they don't just make a black list and never change it, they keep up with it, and PIA is definitely blocked. Contrary to what PIA says, doesn't work. Tested various providers in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

- Qatar: Same as UAE... blocked blocked blocked.

- Refund Hassle: I signed up when I left, and tested it here, working fine. Then when I was traveling and in the above countries it wouldn't work. Of course those countries block access to their website, so I had to wait until I got back. I sent them screen shots. I asked for my annual fee to be refunded and my account closed. They replied that there were no refunds. I pointed out that their website had a guarantee. They said no refunds. I then replied back that I could just dispute it with my credit card since I didn't get the service promises they made, and they replied that if I did that I would lose the dispute because their website says no refunds. I explained that you can't sell a car and have a sign that says "Runs Well, No Refunds" and then send me a photo of a car. They didn't reply. So I opened a dispute on PayPal (I had paid with my credit card through PayPal)... they must have known they were out of gas, and would surely lose this one, so they just issued a refund and cancelled my account...

So I will tell everyone I know to avoid PIA like the plague. Their customer service is bad, their advertisements false, and their own policies aren't followed. There are other VPN providers out there.

Mac to my Mac, PIA, Yosemite Beta

Has anyone else had trouble using PIA and Yosemite Beta while trying to access a computer running the PIA client with Back to My Mac? I have two identical MBP 2012 and the one at home can't be accessed from behind the VPN (PIA) with back to my mac or with Screens iOS app. Anyone seeing this too?

It's weird... PIA works for me, but there's a catch! PIA only works for me in Chrome, but it doesn't work for me in Safari. Are you all seeing the same things?

Works for me across all browsers/connections. Using their menubar app.

Been using expressvpn through their mac app with no complaints (on 10.10.3). They are US based so that may or may not be an issue for you.

Best option with good support and apps as well as iOS support is Tunnel bear for me. Speed is good servers on all continents and cheap. 40 bucks a year is a no brainer.
