I'm getting pretty tiered of Flat VS Skeumorphism...

Flat design is not an approach nor a "style". Its a trend, and with every design trend it dies and gets a place in the pocket of great designer.

Design is about thinking of solutions for a problem. If "flat" design is the solution then use flat design, If skeumorphism is the best solution use Skeumorphism. Fact is that everything has skeumorphism. it starts with the terms like web PAGES it isn't a real page so the its referring to a real life example so only the term is already skeumorphism. The same counts for buttons the button isn't necessary for the function, but we do it to make things clearer and make people understand how it should be used.

So to ay skeumorphism is bad just doesn't make sense. So get over it embrace the fact there will always be skeumorphism and that flat design isn't the solution for iOS.

Well, I do agree that there will always be SOME degree of skeumorphism.. hopefully only where necessary. I don't deign to pretend my opinion is more valid than others, so I'm not going to join you in telling people what they should get over or embrace.. However, I will share my opinions. I think that having an app like iBooks resemble actual paper is VERY good and makes the whole experience feel more natural. I absolutely ABHOR leather stitching on an app like Find Friends though. What is that even supposed to resemble? Is there some old musty leather bound book that tracks current whereabouts of friends via GPS coordinates that I'm unaware of?? Similarly, I find the faux felt of the Game Center app hideous & gaudy. Once again, it's just off kilter.. who would think of a billiards table in relation to modern video games?? It feels like a design by old men that are out of touch with the times... I am quite excited to see Jony's fresh/clean design. It is a fairly unanimous opinion that he can design very elegant & beautiful hardware, I don't see why anybody would think that his eye for detail and gorgeous simplicity would yield ugly results on the software side. Just one man's opinion.. but I guess we'll all know soon enough! =)

I don't mind the current design. I don't see why the flat design is needed, it's not like the current icons are jumping up from the device and clawing our eyes out.

They need to lose the faux-gloss shimmer that many apps now lack.

You know which one.

I don't like the leather and wood textures in iOS, but I do like the shiny bubbly stuff. I would hate to see it go.

There's always a slight in between as well, where you have some gradient but not that really strong shine one.
