You need to differentiate between x64 Macbook and ARM Macbook. ARM Macbook is not much better than ARM Chromebook since it's limited compared to x64 due to lack of native software. You can jump through hoops and pay for Crossover and Parallels subscriptions to run some Windows on ARM software but it's still severely limited compared to x64.
99% of the software is there or can run through rosseta. Do you need Windows? Guess what, you can buy a windows laptop!

This is - as usual by this poster - verifyably just incorrect on several levels

Imagine coughing up a $1000 for glorified spyware.
I know some don't want to use Google because "spyware" but Chrome OS is much more secure than Windows or Mac OS as an operating system. It's essentially a browser and sandbox, which is why I choose it as my primary operating system. Granted, I only use it for web browsing and media consumption (YouTube, YouTube TV, Netflix, etc.).

Chrome seems to be the primary browser many website devs design for, making Safari and to a lesser extent, Firefox, less and less compatible. I've dealt with a lot of sites deeming Safari an 'unsupported browser' to the point it is like reliving the death of Internet Explorer all over again.
