I moved from the 6s Plus to the X last year. Although I miss the screen ratio, I don't miss the overall size of the phone at all.

The moment I picked up my X I knew it was too small. I have, for years, longed for the day when it’s a true plus size form factor and all screen. Friday is that day!
Same here. While I’ve enjoyed the X I knew from the beginning it was too small.. I had used a plus since the 6 plus so it took some getting used to. With that said it’ll be great to be using a plus sized phone but all screen this time.

I’ve been a Plus user for two years but have opted for the XS after a twenty minute play with an X in the Apple Store a few weeks ago. I can’t wait to go down to the smaller size.

Realistically I only ever went with the Plus in the first place because of the camera enhancements the 7 Plus had over the 7. It’s only quite recently that I’ve come to realise I’ve been putting up with the bulky size as opposed genuinely needing/wanting it. After holding the X for a while, my current 8 Plus was suddenly jarringly heavy and large. Despite the narrower keyboard I found the X more comfortable for typing too.

I am so close to this...
Looking back it was much the same reason, camera, that I went to the Plus.
My ‘real’ use of the Plus screen is in watching videos and editing photos. Outside of that, I really don’t like the large phone. It doesn’t fit in any pockets, it’s heavy in the pockets it does fit in. Hell, I have to remove the insert of my truck’s cup holder for it to fit there..

I am in no rush so I will be giving the XSM a look but I may also look at moving my ‘big screen’ work to my iPad. I love my cellular IPP 10.5 and have it with me much of the time in a backpack. I am using it right now to type this (with my trusty Logitech K811 *plug because it’s awesome*)..

I know I love the format of the X. I know I can type on it very well...as good or better than my Plus. I know I don’t love having to find a ‘place’ for the Plus when we go out to eat or to an event. My wife left the Plus for the X and her only regret is she hates Face ID.

Very informative and helpful thread. Thank you to all that have contributed... still open to more feedback.. keep it coming.

I was sick of my plus being too big and falling out of my pocket when im in the car, its a good device but its too ungainley, the landscape view annoyed as much as it was enjoyed, but the dimensions of the thing killed it for me, neither big enough to replace an ipad or mini and too big for a phone, I've gone to an XS, I'll see what its like and look again in a couple of years.

Nice! I'm also extremely excited to upgrade, but was more worried about getting my hands on the phone. By the time I had time to think about the Watch, all orders had been pushed back to mid/late Oct. I'll hold off on ordering online and hope that I can pick one up in store sometime before that.

My gen 1 watch is looking forward to retirement, lol! :p
Yes, when I ordered the watch last night, my ship date was listed as 11/9. Which is fine. In the past, I've had shipments come several days early, and I don't mind having to wait a little. I'll just be that much happier to have the watch when it arrives!

I have 6s Plus and I pre-ordered XS. I only chose 6s Plus cos of the better PPI and Full HD screen.
Now, Apple made some changes and you don't have to buy bigger phone to have better PPI or camera.
What's funny, XR is bigger and these parameters are worse.

XS should be perfect, most of my friends have "normal sized" phones so I won't be sticking out. I hate doing selfies on my 6S Plus, trying to find a good angle with such a big phone is a pain.

Went from 7 Plus to X. For me, it's the perfect size. I doubt I will upgrade, as the X just fits my usage pattern so well. Big enough for reading but small enough to one-hand.

I pre-ordered the XS in the same hopes. Even when I watch videos at home, I will more likely grab my iPad Pro 10.5 rather than iPhone. For me, the pocketability of the smaller size plus no camera sacrifice. I am not sure if I will miss my plus but that is what the return period is for.

Not even one?
:)

Not in terms of size, though I still think TouchID on my former 7 Plus worked better than FaceID.

In a minor update, after holding the Max: The screen is lovely. Now that I'm without an iPad as well, having a slightly bigger screen for videos/reading would be amazing. The bigger battery (and screen) would also make it easier to justify playing games as well.

However, convenience is still the overriding factor for me. The X is more discreet in my pocket and easier to use on the go with one hand. I wouldn't rule out me making an impulse buy for the Max when my upgrade is due, but it's highly doubtful.
