I personally think that all of these things go on the various tech forums. I've encountered bitter anger at simply stating facts.

BTW - Apple is NOT perfect. They never were, perfection is unattainable. They simply make better products as the money-spending public sees it as evidence by sales. I have issues with iOS, Apple TV and other Apple-related things. But I bet I have had even more with Windows/Android over the years.

My hero in tech is Steve Wozniack. First he was a brilliant engineer. Second, he is a lover of all tech and criticizes Apple when they deserve it. He wants all the best tech no matter who it comes from which I consider a great view on the world.

(1. depends what it is... Makes users a fanboy, but only IF uses defend Apple just for the sake of defending.. That's a tough one. Because how do u know.
(2 see #1 as its the same.. just replace "Apple" with "Google"
(3 true,,, not a fanboi, but also not learning either.... anyone can read and a website, but understanding it makes it all the more reason (i think we can be all guilty of that one)....

I think people need to stop worrying what labels tech nerds give them on forums lol.

If you defend your chosen phone/feature/OS and somebody who doesn't know you gives you a label purely based on assumption, they are an insignificant idiot who really shouldn't ruin your day. You don't have to justify your choice in all honesty. At the end of the day beyond the boundaries of a tech forum nobody cares what phone you use or your reasons for buying it. All it boils down to is points scoring on the Internet and I still don't understand why people get upset when not everybody shares their views and tastes.

Just enjoy the phone you like.

1. Yes & No. For the most part YES, but ... there are those that are overzealous in defence regardless of whether they are factually wrong.

2. Yes & No. For the most part YES, but ... there are those that are overzealous and will use every post to throw in a dig towards Apple - even if Apple are irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

I gave an explanation on another thread about the whole situation. I'll post it here in a quote:

I'm surrounded every day by people who the vast majority of which have and use iPhones. Two and a half years ago less than half did, most with 4Ss (this was in the era of the 5S and 5C) , the others with Blackberrys and Androids. Here's what happened: The people with iPhones loved their phones. That's just the effect that iOS has. Because it's just so easy to adapt to, and it did everything that they wanted them to do so easily. I'll even go as far as to say that I prefer iOS over Android. The people who didn't have iPhones, although used to their own phones, envied the iPhone users, and got their own. That effect has pretty much spread over that time, and for a while now, everybody has an iPhone.
But I feel the craze is dying. I'm one in the crowd of iPhone users who has an Android phone. I have people admiring it, praising the screen, design and camera. Getting back to the discussion - I keep asking Windows fanboys why they buy Windows tablets. It's well known there are hardly any good apps on them. Getting even more to the point of how I use my iPad. I have like 40+ apps installed. Most of which are not in the Windows Store. Some of them are but are crap compared to iPad versions. Why should I consider a Windows tablet when:

* the app experience is far inferior in terms of selection and quality
* the live tiles are mostly not live and do not really add to the UX

It's simple the small windows tablets are a toy PC/laptop with far more potential than a toy consumption device running a Phone OS, apps are a bit mute when you can run a full OS software

No one will deny that within it's limitations an Ipad does what it does probably the best but don't be confused with a device that is limited by it's OS to one that is only limited by hardware/processing, when compared to a full laptop OSX or Windows.

These devices may look similar and overlap each other in many aspects but there approach to progression is entirely different.

If an Ipad for fills your needs that's all that is important

Back when they had the RT versions, I totally agree. Metro sucks. But now on Windows 10, I'll bet most Windows tablet users stay on the desktop.

I dont care about any of this stuff. Just use what you like and dont worry about what others think. I dont use an iPhone because they just still dont do enough of what i can on Android and its that simple.

There's certainly a good element of truth in that

For those that want to run MS Office or older less demanding games and software or even Android Apps via an emulator there's plenty of fun to be had.

Any 8" tablet is a bit rough and with Windows a 10" is preferable IMO with several running for 10-15 hrs having better batteries

The Ipad is a great consumption device so to are Android Tablets, Win 10 little tablets have a stronger appeal in other areas outside of apps with the bonus of greater connectivity and interface.

I was given a hand me down iPad 2 recently. First time I ever owned an iPad. It is like 4-5 years old and the battery still holds up to 10 hours of video playback but the standby is getting worse on it. Kudos to Apple at making a durable device with a battery that hasn't degraded as badly as many 18 months old smartphones that lose 20-30% like my Xiaomi.

Personally, I will stop caring to take sides and just enjoy them all. I still prefer Android over iOS. But recently moving to Baguio where the climate is great for me, I expect many blackouts (aka brownouts here). No electricity in our home can last days and days.

So I say screw taking sides and buy as many gadgets and power banks as you can to keep you entertained! They generally do the same things anyway. I was thinking of selling the iPad 2 but decided to keep it because who knows when another blackout hits here in Baguio.

Steve Wozniak seems like a great guy, btw. A true tech enthusiast. I was watching a G4 Icons episode of the Apple II and I love hearing his enthusiasm with tech. Actually, I've been looping alot of G4 Icons and Game of Thrones. Watching old video game stories like the video game crash of 1983, Atari, Donkey Kong, Dreamcast, Game Boy, etc makes me appreciate the current technology we have now which can do far more even though the mobile market has become way too saturated just like what happened in video games during the early 1980's. Back in 2013, I was guilty of trying to take sides. Now I realize we just limit ourselves from the cool technology being offered by many brands. Enjoy what you like and who cares about taking sides?
